Centers are overpriced!

Was hoping for EDEY but EDEY will a lottery pick and K4 fell into our laps.

Right now, it’s just Hayes and Wood with possibly Castleton. By deadline, would like to add a big bruiser if possible.

Hope JJ plays more rotation with AD at 4 and Wood/Hayes/Castleton at 5. Ham was just so annoying with his rotation. Glad we moved away but still nightmare flashes come.

Yeah. I’m thrilled that JJ wants the offense to go more through AD. I even want to see AD as a mismatch SF by design.

SF? lol

Know many Lakers fan want big moves or add random FA and pissed about the player option. However, we didn’t get stiffs! Hayes and Wood are good/great pickup at the price point and potential.

We got a smarter and more athletic McGee with Hayes. We got a stretch 5 with Wood. Remember everyone being so excited about these two last year as FA and now they are trash? Crazy!!

If JJ uses our players smarter AND we stay healthy, we are gonna be tough to deal with. Just look at AD and Bron on the USA roster. Then add shooters Max, Knecht4 plus AR in the 4th, how can teams guard us?

Healthy and smart rotation and plays by JJ is all that it takes.

Yeah, agreed. I get the feeling Pelinka was happy with what he got done last year, that he’s thinking “now when we have a coach, let’s see what a quality roster we have”. He got us Hayes, Wood and Harry Giles last year. All are C projects that I heard talked about here as ‘gets’ prior to us getting them, and he got them for nothing.

SF, yes. :D. For a few minutes every game, play him like Durant is played on offense, minus the 3 ball. He can handle, distribute, pass, shoot. He can even guard that position. What a mismatch. If one of our C projects becomes starter quality, I don’t see one good reason not to give it a whirl. Let’s try a 6’6” and up lineup for e few minutes each game, like: C: Wood, PF: LBJ, SF: AD, SG: Christie, PG: JHS. It’ll force the opposing coach to to adjust, take them out of their game. At 6’11”, what AD can’t do well at that position is beyond me. I’d try it for a short stretch every game just to see if it could be a viable approach in the playoffs. How do you guard that? How do you get by them with a set defense?

Are you sure you want JHS at pg? Why not put AR?

As for SF, just because we label him SF, no team is gonna say he is a SF and have their SF guard him, not at 6’11”. But they will have to use SF to guard Bron if we have a big rotation with Wood playing C. Imagine the possibilities?

Now with JJ and no Ham, maybe we can get creative.

Yes. And JHS for sure if we’re going big for a few minutes because he’s a 6’6” tank to get around or shoot over. The idea of AD at SF is just for the reason you state, to draw defenders (a PF on AD) out of position. Bron can pin down their SF down low or in the mid range while AD is on the perimeter handling. Add a C (Wood) who knocks down the corner three (and draws their C out of position), and we’ll have wide open lanes to cut through; leaving only their PG and SG to defend the paint. Will put their coach in reactive mode.

Or why not practice and run to perfection a few simple triangle motions, like “Blind Pig”?

As long as we do something — anything — creative and aggressive coaching wise this season, I’ll be f#%*¥g thrilled.
