Centers are overpriced!
Was hoping for EDEY but EDEY will a lottery pick and K4 fell into our laps.
Right now, it’s just Hayes and Wood with possibly Castleton. By deadline, would like to add a big bruiser if possible.
Hope JJ plays more rotation with AD at 4 and Wood/Hayes/Castleton at 5. Ham was just so annoying with his rotation. Glad we moved away but still nightmare flashes come.
Yeah. I’m thrilled that JJ wants the offense to go more through AD. I even want to see AD as a mismatch SF by design.
SF? lol
Know many Lakers fan want big moves or add random FA and pissed about the player option. However, we didn’t get stiffs! Hayes and Wood are good/great pickup at the price point and potential.
We got a smarter and more athletic McGee with Hayes. We got a stretch 5 with Wood. Remember everyone being so excited about these two last year as FA and now they are trash? Crazy!!
If JJ uses our players smarter AND we stay healthy, we are gonna be tough to deal with. Just look at AD and Bron on the USA roster. Then add shooters Max, Knecht4 plus AR in the 4th, how can teams guard us?
Healthy and smart rotation and plays by JJ is all that it takes.
Yeah, agreed. I get the feeling Pelinka was happy with what he got done last year, that he’s thinking “now when we have a coach, let’s see what a quality roster we have”. He got us Hayes, Wood and Harry Giles last year. All are C projects that I heard talked about here as ‘gets’ prior to us getting them, and he got them for nothing.
SF, yes.

. For a few minutes every game, play him like Durant is played on offense, minus the 3 ball. He can handle, distribute, pass, shoot. He can even guard that position. What a mismatch. If one of our C projects becomes starter quality, I don’t see one good reason not to give it a whirl. Let’s try a 6’6” and up lineup for e few minutes each game, like: C: Wood, PF: LBJ, SF: AD, SG: Christie, PG: JHS. It’ll force the opposing coach to to adjust, take them out of their game. At 6’11”, what AD can’t do well at that position is beyond me. I’d try it for a short stretch every game just to see if it could be a viable approach in the playoffs. How do you guard that? How do you get by them with a set defense?
