Earlier this summer, it's considered homerism to believe that Lakers could land Nash and Howard while keeping Kobe and Pau.

Before talking about "homerism" and "lack of substance", these so called realgm Lakers -ahem- fans should acknowledge that their pathetic attempt at "objectivity" is simply a desperate plea for respect in an internet message board. Is it so important to have someone from the Celtics or Heat fanbase to say "hey, look at this Lakers fan, he's so cool because all he does everytime is bash Kobe Bryant. Let's all buy him a pint!"?

Screw that.

Reading post from veteran posters at CL and LG make me proud to call myself a Lakers fan. Realgm Lakers fans (not all but some) pale in comparions when it comes to substance and fandom. You think bashing Kobe Bryant and propping Michael Jordan make you sound intelligent? Heck no, it just makes you sound pathetic for selling your soul as a fan like a rancid prostitute.

I guess remnants of former Shaq fans have to have a place to hang out even after their boy manage to burn every bridges he have ever built in his career.

Carry on, gents. Keep thinking how superior you are compared to LG and CL.

I'd love to respond in the eloquent tone I've developed around here but feel this is much more appropriate

I'll continue to rep the Lakers and Kobe Bryant in the general board, thank you very much. I find the folks there less cynical toward the concept.

So, people would prefer this board to be the cult of Kobe, rather than a non-biased place of discussion with multiple differing viewpoints? There is some dictatorships still present in the world, why not move there? No one is going to badmouth your idols there.

I think the problem stems from an insecurity that shouldn't be there in the first place. We win a LOT, the times we don't you just want to act like nothing was wrong? Thank God you don't run the Lakers.

Another thing that irks me is this whole coming to Kobe defense in an irrational manner. When he shoots 3/20, you think he doesn't know he's sucking? You think Kobe would want you to prop him up after a 43% shooting year?

Listen, if you believe in your heart of hearts that we can get Lebron (for example), regardless of end result, it is going to be a homer opinion because it is simply unlikely. If it happens, do you think the naysayers who happen to be Laker fans will be discontent? Of course not, they would be jubilant. Just because they disagree with your initial assertions that happen to benefit the Lakers, which are made in the face of all existing evidence, doesn't mean they wouldn't celebrate and feel happy about it.
C'mon, you apes! You wanna live forever?

The naysayer has no right to be happy when we got Howard and Nash if they had been cowering scared in the corner when real Lakers fans were busy arguing with everyone how the acquisition were plausible.

The same thrashes also has no right to be celebrating the '09 and '10 championships when they didn't say anything when other fanbases claim that the Pau Gasol trade was the most lopsided in NBA history.

It's a freaking disgrace coming from Lakers fans in Real GM when they prefer to focus on Kobe's FG% in a compressed season rather than the 5 ring he had won for this franchise. An absolute friggin disgrace.

Everyone is so scared at being labelled a homer, like it's actually a bad thing. We're fans and fans are supposed to be PASSIONATE about our team especially its' leader who have gone through hell and back to bring us 5 championships. Where is the passion? And yes, let me say it, where the hell is the homerism?

I am a Lakers homer and I'm god damn proud of it.

Hint...
Not taken.

I'm not sure if this is what Deep meant when he was calling for Lakers Fans to evolve... But I hope not.

All in all, I was never clear on the point of this thread and now all I get from it is that Chubby is clueless...
