Is anyone else as pissed as me that the Lakers didn't continue the "style" of jersey that they had retired for decades?!?! :(

Why should Shaq's be different? He also played in the older-looking uniform earlier in his career.

Plus they totally retired the FRONT of the jersey with the "V" neck on it. It just looks stupid. :banghead:

EPIC FAIL by Jeanie Buss, or whomever, IMO.

Shaq says he understands Dwight is hurt but his motto, brought on by his father was, "If you can walk, you can play"

shaq has quite the poor memory about his ability to stay healthy, lol.

anyway, quite the change of tune from the ol "I got hurt on company time, so I'll rehab on company time."

"My big toe hurts.."

My exact thoughts... I mean Kobe did his part (did you guys think he volunteered, or do you think he was asked to?)... Shaq could've at least mentioned them.

The Lakers had the Shaq jersey ceremony on in the locker room at halftime, but Kobe turned TV off when fans started "We Want Phil" chant.

I actually liked the part where Shaq thanked Dr. Buss for getting this done so soon into his retirement compared to the bickering from Kareem over his statue.

Lakers vice president of public relations John Black told Ball Don't Lie on Wednesday that the reversed recognition "was an error and will be corrected as soon as we can get a new jersey for the wall made up." Black said the team hoped to have the replacement jersey ready "in about a week, but [it] could be a couple of weeks."

how do they not check before all this? What if it said "o'neill"
while they're at it, fix that wilkes jersey

The Buss family didn't put a rush on the statue EVEN when Kareem was sick. Kareem is an old man. He just wanted to be alive to see it.

Statues are much harder to do then a jersey retirement, but I am disappointed it took so long to get the SkyHook statue. Now that the statue is up, all is good in Lakerland.
