If we played the rfa game, which we don't, I would gladly split all our cap two ways between Butler and Tobias in a 60/40 split to try and recreate Michael and Scottie type wing combo. Go all in with Kobe at point and young Randle at PF.

It's funny you bring that up about our position on RFAs. Some sort of unwritten rule or etiquette? Our FO is soft like charmin.

He played for Spain again this summer, as well. Thibodeau gotta give him some much earned rest.

Yeah Mitch has said how he doesn't like it because the Jerrys didn't like it when it came to tying up the cap. The last restricted free agent la made an offer to was in 1991. The fact is we have not made a free agent offer or tried to sign and trade for any rfa for over 20 years.

Its part of the reason I was less pissed than most with Kobe's check. The fact is when guys were tlaking about Parsons, Bledsoe, Monroe, Hayward, Thomas, and so on we wouldn't be making any kind of offer to them anyhow as long as they are restricted as it goes against office policy to even try to recruit them. He had nothing to do with them or Geroge / Wall etc not coming because the do doesn't belive in rfa

The fact is I doubt they go in for it this summer which means Tobias, Butler, and Jackson are a no go. I mean I wouldn't be upset at them proving me wrong and snagging 2/3 of them but I doubt it. We are going to try and recruit Love and Rondo, even Smith (with Detorit paying most the bill) now if their current half season teams don't work like how we swooped in and had Dwight stolen from us. I would like Marc and Dragic but that's probably pipe

Nope he won't win it. There has never been a foreign born player to win ROY. Wiggins has that locked up.

There has been one. Pau Gasol.

Pau Gasol -- He is a four-time All-Star, and a three-time All-NBA selection, once on the second team and twice on the third team. He has won two NBA championships, both with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2002 with the Memphis Grizzlies, the only non-American NBA player to win that award. He is the older brother of fellow NBA player Marc Gasol.

Pau came into the NBA as the reigning Spanish league MVP. Mirotic was the Spanish league MVP last season.

Mirotic IMO could be the ROY with sufficient minutes, especially if he were with a bad team.

We have a roster of players that're NBA journeymen for a reason fellas. This roster just isnt good. Hopefully we can make some moves this offseason. Because the Knicks and Pistons have killed our chances at that top 5 pick I believe

A couple of more loses, might force the Lakers to throw in the towel..... and shut down Kobe for the rest of the season..... we need to go on a really good roll just to make the playoffs... that is unlikely...... oh well....

highlight of the game for me

Mike Trudell
12h ago

Pau ran directly to see Kobe after his 23 points, 13 boards, 3 assists and 2 blocks led CHI to a W over LAL on Christmas.
