If we played the rfa game, which we don't, I would gladly split all our cap two ways between Butler and Tobias in a 60/40 split to try and recreate Michael and Scottie type wing combo. Go all in with Kobe at point and young Randle at PF.
It's funny you bring that up about our position on RFAs. Some sort of unwritten rule or etiquette? Our FO is soft like charmin.
Yeah Mitch has said how he doesn't like it because the Jerrys didn't like it when it came to tying up the cap. The last restricted free agent la made an offer to was in 1991. The fact is we have not made a free agent offer or tried to sign and trade for any rfa for over 20 years.
Its part of the reason I was less pissed than most with Kobe's check. The fact is when guys were tlaking about Parsons, Bledsoe, Monroe, Hayward, Thomas, and so on we wouldn't be making any kind of offer to them anyhow as long as they are restricted as it goes against office policy to even try to recruit them. He had nothing to do with them or Geroge / Wall etc not coming because the do doesn't belive in rfa
The fact is I doubt they go in for it this summer which means Tobias, Butler, and Jackson are a no go. I mean I wouldn't be upset at them proving me wrong and snagging 2/3 of them but I doubt it. We are going to try and recruit Love and Rondo, even Smith (with Detorit paying most the bill) now if their current half season teams don't work like how we swooped in and had Dwight stolen from us. I would like Marc and Dragic but that's probably pipe
