Kolzig should have retired. What a pathetic way to end a fantastic career.

Toronto fans - are you disappointed in Burkes first trade deadline with Toronto?

Guys, the Leafs didn't acquire Kolzig and Heward just because they felt like it, or wanted depth in their lineup.

Tampa Bay traded Kolzig and Heward as salary dumps to Toronto. In exchange for taking their salary, the Leafs picked up Andy Rogers (a former 1st round pick with Tampa Bay) and a 4th rounder.

It's a strange move, but we didn't acquire them for needed depth in the net.

Im not disappointed or excited. Burke didn't have much to work with and got what he could. We had no 2nd rd or 4th rd pick going into this year's draft and now we have 2 2nd rder and a 4th, plus a conditional pick that we don't know about yet. I think Burke's major moves will be at the draft where Kubina's and Kaberle's no trade clauses are gone and he can start really changing the team. Antropov and Moore weren't going to be re-signed so getting picks for them obviously made sense.

OK, just got back. Pahlsson was picked up strictly to win faceoffs which is something the Hawks are terrible at. But he won't provide much scoring, and the Hawks gave up a ton for a guy who is suffering from mono. James Wisniewski, Petri Kontiola and a pick is a lot for a 15 point guy. I don't think Wisniewski is all that valuable, but this team is somewhat shaky on defense once you get past Keith, Seabrook and Campbell. I saw Kontiola a lot in Rockford and loved his game.

Not sure I'm a fan of this one, mainly because I think Tallon drastically overpaid.

From what I gathered, it was Pahlsson for Wisniewski and a conditional pick.

TSN only has Wisniewski for Pahlsson straight up...

No. I didn't expect a flury of trades from Burke this deadline. I think we'll see Kaberle moved at the draft, and I think Kubina will stay.

We got an excellent return for Moore (a player we acquired on waivers), a good return for Antropov (he was leaving anyway), we allowed Toskala to shut in down for the season and picked up an adequate alternative in Gerber. The most recent trade was also brilliant for Burke. We had cap room, so we picked up a salary dump, while receving Andy Rogers (former first round pick) and a 4th rounder.

Huh. I've seen Wisniewski, Kontiola and a pick as well.

TSN reported Wisniewski and conditional pick.

I am surprised no one picked up Voros off of waivers. He was playing well with the Rangers.

Ah, ok, Kontiola rumor was on fourthperiod but nowhere else and someone reported that as true on the Blackhawks Message Board. That pill's a little easier to swallow.

Ouch. Well that trade was so one-sided I'm amazed the Grizzlies weren't the cause of it.

I said "apparently" so I'm not sure if it was a legit source or not (and no it was not Eklund, I would know right away that that's not a legit source lol)
