I don’t mind Ingram the player. My issues with Portland getting him is he isn’t a true solution to the team despite being at his peak already, probably does make us better when we should be tanking for Flagg, and either we pay him way too much and become a treadmill team for many years or he is just gone after a year. No need to ruin the tank job for that.
Or, flip him at the deadline for more than you could get for Ayton.
How much value would a $36 million expiring soon to be a UFA hold? Any team trading for him would need to be certain that he was either a key piece for a playoff run and/or very likely to re-sign.
