KCP for RJ makes sense if you want 3+D guards.
But Barrett doesn’t provide what is needed to fix the structural problems in Orlando’s offense so it doesn’t make sense for Orlando. The two things missing in Orlando is a playmaker at PG and a high volume 3pt shooter and Barrett doesn’t really provide that. To fix our problems we can’t just blindly add better offensive players they have to be ones that fix those problems.
RJ has improved a lot as a playmaker. He would make Banchero look a lot better. Paulo is the worst 20 PPG scorer in the league at the moment. Barrett doesn't provide volume 3pt shooting but he provides rim pressure.
Since Wagner and Paulo bring up the ball Orlando doesn't need a PG.
WCJ
Banchero
Wagner
KCP
Barrett / Suggs
This would work pretty well for the Magic. It essential surrounds RJ with shooting and it would take advantage of him in the pick and roll as a handler. He's been really good in that role and ranked 90+ percentile in that as a scorer / play creator.
I don't know what the Raptors would want though. Maybe KCP and picks. KCP has a bad contract and unreliable shooting which is basically a lateral move.
Clearly lateral, so no picks added. Your description of KCP’s contract & shooting are similar concerns about RJ. KCP is an elite defender and plays largely off ball. The same reasons you give for him succeeding previously should apply next to Ingram, Barnes &Quickley. He’d fit TORs offense better than RJ and his defense is worlds better. KCPs bad sample of shooting is much smaller than RJ’s. Neither is a perfect fit but RJs contract is for significantly more $$. It’s a bigger risk for ORL than TOR.
