Yeah so just cut out the Grizzlies and swap Rozier for Bam
Heat get:
Giannis
Bucks get:
Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Kel'el Ware
Nikola Jovic
Bam Adebayo
2025 Miami Heat First Round Draft Pick
2025 Golden State Warriors First Round Draft Pick (via Heat)
2030 Unprotected Miami Heat First Round Draft Pick
Too much. Bam's inclusion significantly drops the rest Miami has to give, especially if you use the Doncic-Davis trade as a template. Bam isn't on Davis's level, but he also doesn't come with Davis's injury history.
Bam, JJJ and then either picks or current prospects (Ware/Jovic), but not every asset Miami has.
The Luka trade is only a template of insanity, not for any future NBA trades.
That was way more of a one off than even the Gobert trade.
The Bucks would never get "full value" for Giannis just like Dallas would never have gotten "full value" for Doncic because...you just don't trade those guys unless you have no choice.
The Gobert trade was even more insane because Gobert is a glorified role player who fetched superstar value. At least Davis, when healthy, is elite on both sides of the ball. (And even if you think Gobert is worth anywhere in the ballpark of what he was traded for, Bam is worth something similar since he is on Gobert's level defensively and infinitely better on offense.)
If Davis didn't have his injury history and were 27 instead of 32, the trade wouldn't have seemed so wild I don't think. Anthony Davis was traded to the Lakers in 2019 when he was 26 for Lonzo Ball, B Ingram, J Hart and 3 1sts. No one there is or was on Bam's level, and definitely not when the trade happened. And Giannis isn't 25 like Doncic is or Davis was when traded to the Lakers (Giannis will be 31 this summer), so you have that difference, as well.
Given those precedents and differences, I still think Bam + 1-2 prospects + 1-2 1sts is roughly what would need to offered.
