Houston/Kings continue with Blazers/Lakers
Trade 1
KINGS
In:Green/J.Smith
Out:Lavine
HOUSTON
In: Lavine
Out:Green/JSmith
Houston needs to consolidate before its prospects get paid. Zach has flaws but can score at stellar volume and efficiency. Lavine surrounded by elite defenders + Udoka could work.
Trade 2
KINGS
In: Clingan/Maxi/Vandervilt /Vincent/#12
Out: Sabonis
a young core..
Ellis/Green/Murray/Smith/Clingan
Carter/Monk/12/LaRavia
They were not even good enough to qualify for the Playoffs, they are rejuvenating and raising their long-term ceiling with pieces that in my opinion fit better,
BLAZERS
In:Sabonis/Knecht
Out:Ayton/Clingan
Simons/Sharpe/Avdija/Cámara/Sabonis
Henderson/Knecht/Thybulle/Grant/R.Williams
This team is a contender in my opinion, young and with a lot of room for growth,
LAKERS
In:Ayton
Out: Vandervilt/Vincent/Maxi/Knecht
They get the center they need, while still retaining their most important assets, for the post-LeBron era.

Re: Houston/Kings continue with Blazers/Lakers
That Blazers team is not a contender, which is why Sabonis is not the right investment. It's obviously an upgrade, so it gives pause, but I think Portland likes what they have in Clingan.

Yeah, I don't see Houston or Portland being very happy about these deals even though I do think Sabonis would be a great fit with the personnel they have in Portland.

I think Lavine is a clear improvement over Green or at least he is much more prepared. In the worst case scenario, they would gain future flexibility, since it expires earlier and if it worked, Lavine's next contract would surely be more coherent. Is J.Smith too valuable? Could he be replaced by Brooks/Whitmore?

Cut POR out of this, thanks.
That team has no future.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

At that asset cost for Sabonis, I personally would do it for Portland.
I understand the hesitation that it makes them a treadmill team though.

Nope. The upgrade of Lavine over Green isn't worth Jabari. I don't think Lavine is worth trying to mold into a playoff caliber go-to scorer.

Re: Houston/Kings continue with Blazers/Lakers
Because it limits them, they could still make future changes to improve. Sabonis is at his best and would fit perfectly alongside two top-level defensive wings. I think prospects develop much better surrounded by good players, and this trade leaves them with the option of one of Scott/Sharpe becoming their best version and becoming a very good team.

$47 mil for aging LaVine?
Hopefully not Houston’s only option.
Green plus filler (team option guys).
No Jabari or prospects.
Pick ten is available but really don’t think it’s necessary.

I love the fit in Portland I've been saying that should be the move for a few months now. I understand Portland fans are split on this, but It's a very low risk move. Sharpe, Scoot, Deni, Camara, Sabonis.
Can't see the Rockets trading for LaVine even if Green sucks. They should look at better options.

I'd be fine with LaVine for Green and whatever filler Houston wanted to offer. I want neither of these guys, but I assume the team could get away playing Green less than they will LaVine.

For Portland, I don't like the Sibonis/Clingan inclusion.
I might consider this portion of the trade where Ayton goes to Lakers for Vando/Vincent/Maxi/Knecht... IF Portland could find a team to give them value for Vando and Knecht.
Maybe a Blazer/Laker trade like this would be better:
Portland Out:Ayton
Lakers Out: Vanderbilt/Vincent/Finney-Smith
Although I guess it really depends on what type of value Knecht could bring back.

Why would lakers do that? Imo dfs is the best player in the deal
