Well I have a lot of NBA TV playing in the background as I work on boring IT stuff, so I could have sworn I heard countless times the folks saying AD is happy to reunite with D-Lo, so dont think its far fetched to believe he floated the idea.

Its Nico job to find the best option. We have a glut at forward, a good GM would have worked tirelessly the phones to see what PG/G KLay Thompson or a Naji Marshall could return. I know I think more Naji than you do, but he's a solid player and absolutely would net a guy far better than D-Lo. Then use the TMLE to replace Naji with a lesser talent. I dont even believe Nico tried doing anything of the sort, he seemed zeroed in on D-Lo from the jump. Stein reported it was a wrap before this thing began

Agree on Delon though

Why would the signing of Dlo prevent the shopping of Naji still? I really don't think after shooting 28% from 3 that teams are going to be offering up a much better guard for him. He was likely viewed as neutral to a slight positive. Now maybe you could have moved him into someone's exception and shopped with the full MLE? Outbid the Grizz on Ty Jerome? Got in on LeVert or Schroeder?

Lavert and Jerome would be better options than D-Lo all things considering. And I was against the Klay signing last year, only thing I liked about it was getting rid of Josh Green. We've seen Klay has been a massive disappointment to no one's surprise except the Dallas FO, D-Lo will eb the same, just cheaper

I get it...the DLO signing to you is the cherry atop of the crap sundae you've been enduring. Things can change so fast in the NBA.

Yea I can take yours, Reggie's, and Chuck's posts as me being annoying so time to focus on the positives, and there's plenty to be positive about

God is good
Flagg pick
Kyrie and Gaff extensions
Not signing Jordan Clarkston

Levert is making almost 15 mil a year, while Jerome is looking at 9 mil a year. DLo is only setting the Mavs back 6.5 mil a year. I'm sure they could've gunned for Jerome (doubt the 2.5 mil woulda put them over cap, but I didn't check), but Levert commanded over double what DLo is. At the price, I don't think they could've chosen a better Kyrie backup/replacement.

Nico criticized Luka because he didn't want the face of the franchise to exhibit the traits Luka had or has.

That's sort of how culture works, you start from the Top and Best players and hope lesser role players, if not an ideal culture fit, fall in line.

You're entitled to your opinion here, but many, including myself and others, feel you are off-base.

But unless I'm mistaken, I havent seen one fan of one of D-Lo's former team chime in and have positive things to say about him. I thought ZImp was a Lakers fan but an earlier thread revealed its more a LBJ thing. So fans of every team insist a guy is a losing basketball player, not to mention records and stats backing it up, is it a coincidence or a pattern that a GM shouldnt ignore?

He's a decent RS player but bad in the playoffs.

His style is based on momentum plays and emotion. Likes getting the crowd involved and being entertaining. He is a top 20 passer in our league and he shoots well. He's ok defensively of you can put him on the opponents slowest player. The switch hunting you see in the playoffs kills his value and a little more defense tanks his TS.

He will win Dallas games this season, he's ideal for what they need

And Kyrie exhibited better culture than Luka in Brooklyn? AD was on Shams bitching about not having center, on one of the most iconic moments in league history, LeBron passing Kareem in sxoring we had to watch him moping on the bench, he also os famous for coming to training camp boasting he "didn't touch the ball since April".
The superstar he allegedly tried to get before AD, Anthony Edwards, famous for "send da video", isn't exactly a saint either.
Luka has a his flaws, but no one can come and claim Nicos guys are better, I'd take Luka's "culture" over quitter like AD anyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
If Nico trades Luka away because defense, then it's 100% hypocritical to go and target D'Lo and he should be called out for it.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
