Well I have a lot of NBA TV playing in the background as I work on boring IT stuff, so I could have sworn I heard countless times the folks saying AD is happy to reunite with D-Lo, so dont think its far fetched to believe he floated the idea.
Its Nico job to find the best option. We have a glut at forward, a good GM would have worked tirelessly the phones to see what PG/G KLay Thompson or a Naji Marshall could return. I know I think more Naji than you do, but he's a solid player and absolutely would net a guy far better than D-Lo. Then use the TMLE to replace Naji with a lesser talent. I dont even believe Nico tried doing anything of the sort, he seemed zeroed in on D-Lo from the jump. Stein reported it was a wrap before this thing began
Agree on Delon though
Why would the signing of Dlo prevent the shopping of Naji still? I really don't think after shooting 28% from 3 that teams are going to be offering up a much better guard for him. He was likely viewed as neutral to a slight positive. Now maybe you could have moved him into someone's exception and shopped with the full MLE? Outbid the Grizz on Ty Jerome? Got in on LeVert or Schroeder?
Lavert and Jerome would be better options than D-Lo all things considering. And I was against the Klay signing last year, only thing I liked about it was getting rid of Josh Green. We've seen Klay has been a massive disappointment to no one's surprise except the Dallas FO, D-Lo will eb the same, just cheaper
I get it...the DLO signing to you is the cherry atop of the crap sundae you've been enduring. Things can change so fast in the NBA.
