The possible trade might be with Rasho and maybe either TJ or Jose if we resign him in the Off season to around TJs money. Shaq is booked for 20 million for i think 3 more years so that gonna kill or cap space

No.

2 more years at 40 million?

It would be hard to even sign a free agent of Darrick Martin's caliber with Shaq in the fold.

I don't know, but with Calderon blossoming like he does, T.J. would have been expandable. And still, T.J. is young and could have given Wade some relief at the PG position, which is what Miami is looking for. Miami would also save some money because Dixon expires after this season, while Rasho and Maceo do after next season.

The Raps obviously would get Shaq, a physical presence down low that they are missing for so long. With the shooting that the Raptors have, Shaq would have been a pretty good fit. He'd probably mesh well with Bosh and Bargnani as well, since they aren't prototypical lowpost banger. Adding Shaq would also shed the label of a pure jumpshooting team.
Then the Heat would throw in Chris Quinn, who is nothing special but still can hit the open three pointer and give Calderon 10-15 minutes of rest every game, while running the offense better than what Dixon has shown.

Having Shaq would have given Mitchell something to expirement with in the line up. He could either go traditionally with Bargnani off the bench:

Calderon
Parker
Moon
Bosh
Shaq

or he could go massively big:

Calderon
Parker
Bargnani
Bosh
Shaq

I don't know, but if I was BC I would have taken a look at this deal.

I knew this thread was inevitable, but that didn't stop me from throwing up in my mouth just a little when I saw it.

Your deal doesn't top Marion + Banks either.

Shaq is a declining asset,

If we traded for Shaq it would have been to compete today right now this season, and even with Shaq I don't think we would have had enough gas to even win the east.

Then which Shaq shows up next season? or the season after?

Its a short term fix for a problem we will have again in a season or two.

I would much rather BC stick to the plan and build a strong core of player who will learn to play together (ala the Pistons) then trade for quick fixes.

You don't trade a 24 year old PG for a massive contract like Shaq who would kill your cap plans.

Shaq is washed up and it's a one year rental for him I bet. The Suns are contenders we are not so why would Shaq want to come here? Shaq isn't what he used to be and looks washed up and dosn't have it anymore.

Correct. Given the choice between the two trades, we're obviously taking the Phoenix move every time.
