You guys think Washington is gonna trade Beal for what amounts to just cap savings? And not even immediate ones? I mean Washington is gonna want some value, regardless of what Beal is saying, and PHX legit has nothing to offer besides Ayton on value
Will they? IDK. Would it be a good deal for them? Absolutely I think it would. They are going nowhere with Beal. Clear that money and you can start selling cap space next summer and start building up assets while picking high in the draft. Far better than continuing to throw assets at the mid tier players like they have been and still not being a consistent playoff team.
Not sure what value you think Beal holds on that contract, but I have it as basically none.
I dont think Beal holds great value, but he has a star cache and teams want him (because teams always want guys with that cache). Do i think Miami would move 18th and/or Jovic alongside Lowry's expiring for Beal? In a second, imo. The problem for PHX is they cant offer any positive value (and actually negative as Washington would be saddled with Shamet's contract).
Problem is the Wizards surrendered any and all leverage when they foolishly gave him that no trade clause. They made their bed..
