I think Grant + Olynyk would be a reasonable offer, probably add a well-protected 1st, say 2024 1st (1-14, 1-10, 1-8, 2nd).

They would have to unprotect their pick to Houston which would be REALLY risky

Do a follow up trade. What they need to do is extract as much value as they can from a trade. I'm not sure this trade would be it, but I do think it'd be a competitive offer.
That would be foolish. The season is starting. They need to lineup the follow up trade now and just make it a three team trade.

If the choice is no Ben Simmons, or some help instead of Ben Simmons, I think you take the help even if you have to do a bit of reshuffling afterward.

Then it would have to be another asset.

A third choice might be a trade with a different team that isn't sending them back front court players when they've already got a ton of money tied up there and have pretty clear needs in the back court.

It’s not what Morey is after and that’s why no trade has happened

If they trade Simmons I think they'll want a starting caliber small forward, too. Unless Thybulle's offense improves I think his 20-24mpg role is best, and Green is getting up there in age.

Or no one is going to offer what Morey wants, and so he's either going to have to move Simmons for what is reasonably available, or continue playing chicken.

Anyone did this version before?

Cleveland out: Love, 2022 1st, 2024 1st, 2026 1st, 2023/2025 swaps
Cleveland in: Simmons

Houston out: Wall, one of their late 1st or 3x seconds?
Houston in: Love, 2x philly min fillers

Philly out: Simmons, 2 fillers
Philly in: Wall, CLE 2022/2024/2026 1sts, 2023/2025 swaps, late 1st or 2nds from HOU

Why for Cleveland: keep their current core at the expense of picks to make playoffs and possibly more?
Why for Houston: save money
Why for Philly: get a fill in PG with bunch of potentially juicy picks

No primary ball handler will do that

I think that’s one of the worst ones I’ve seen. If you add 2 picks from Philly it’s about Mitchell short.

Ben Simmons doesn’t work on his game and is a locker room cancer. This is too much value for him . Buyer beware!

The Cavs aren't trading three unprotected picks and two sets of swap rights. They've been a 20 win team three seasons in a row and Simmons isn't prime LBJ.

well prime Lebron is never getting traded and not remotely that cheaply if he was so not really sure the point of that comment. prime Lebron's value is infinite.

Cavs need Boughknight here or cut them out. We're not starting Cedi.
