On hindsight it was really valuable experience for SGA to spend a year with paul and play in the playoffs first before the rebuild.
Yeah that was really helpful, CP3 is still an amazing mentor, and no doubt he gave SGA another gear. But an underrated aspect of what OKC has been doing is facilitating trades for veterans they acquire to places they want to go, and ensuring they don't get disgruntled. CP3 wanted to go to PHX, Horford wanted to go back to Boston, Adams wanted to play for a better team. They didn't let any of that linger too long. Muscala is the only guy they've really kept around, and he made it known that he wanted to stay. They ultimately will need more vets, hopefully they can thread the needle on that going forward. Pretty stark contrast from the Wall situation, though Houston may be limited by his market in a way OKC really wasn't.
They also bought out Kemba and did right by him too. Really surprised Houston didnt buy out Wall and let him sign for tax MLE or something and save some money. just an ugly situation there round and round
He doesn't want a buyout, he wants all his money.
Don't judge him at all for that stance tho, to be clear
