Yeah that was really helpful, CP3 is still an amazing mentor, and no doubt he gave SGA another gear. But an underrated aspect of what OKC has been doing is facilitating trades for veterans they acquire to places they want to go, and ensuring they don't get disgruntled. CP3 wanted to go to PHX, Horford wanted to go back to Boston, Adams wanted to play for a better team. They didn't let any of that linger too long. Muscala is the only guy they've really kept around, and he made it known that he wanted to stay. They ultimately will need more vets, hopefully they can thread the needle on that going forward. Pretty stark contrast from the Wall situation, though Houston may be limited by his market in a way OKC really wasn't.

They also bought out Kemba and did right by him too. Really surprised Houston didnt buy out Wall and let him sign for tax MLE or something and save some money. just an ugly situation there round and round

He doesn't want a buyout, he wants all his money.
Don't judge him at all for that stance tho, to be clear

I think there was some impermissible communication going on between Kemba, NYK, and OKC, but in the end Kemba only lost like 2m overall in his buyout. Maybe it needs to be the offseason for some cap room to open up, but I have a hard time seeing Wall not at least getting the deal Kemba got from the Knicks.

Maybe, but it doesn't make much sense for Wall to take that risk now

I would imagine that if there was an MLE offer out there for the taking, that likely would’ve happened.

Well he wouldn't want to do that because then you are seen as a minimum player around the league (look how hard it was for Jeff Green to get out of that and his comment on it) so unless his buyout was less than the minimum, he wouldn't be getting his money. Plus that'd be extremely risky from a health perspective. May get hurt and never get his money back. Makes sense that he doesn't want to take a buyout rn

Who says wall was willing to save them money? He has no reason to work with them he was rehabbing major injuries and his body had a lot on miles on it and it was breaking down. No reason to accept less money to go somewhere else. Hold firm, I'll play but if you want me gone, pay me my full contract or I sit. That way he can heal up, rest, and prepare for a final chance to play somewhere else in a year or two.

Clearing his small cap hit instead of potentially waiving him at the league wide guarantee date? He'd have to be waived by January 7th, but then his partial season salary would stay on the books. :dontknow:

Presti making moves , supposedly he has signed Georgie Kalaitzakis per some European sources but we are at roster limits so a series of moves to make this trade legal and then probably to waive this player ?

OKC waived Deck to take Oni, though it does seem likely-to-inevitable that Oni will also be waived.

He's nothing special but he tries hard. Maybe someone will take a flyer on him...otherwise hope he finds a league where he can play.

With covid he probably will latch onto some 10 days this season to proof he belongs in the NBA.

Lots of stuff heating up on the trade market and yet not a word about Ben Simmons.

Crazy that blockbusters like Miye Oni and Rajon Rando got done and a simple Ben Simmons trade can't.

This is pretty normal. It really is juts a ton of nothing and then everything trade deadline week.

Caveat: Nothing about the Ben Simmons situation has been normal.

Apparently the Jazz are planning to sign Danuel House to a 10-day.

He was someone I had my eye on as a cheap add, though I know his play was quite off this year. Let's see what Quin can do with him in the short-term.

I'm really hoping some random team nobody is talking about comes out of left field and trades for him with like no warning.

I'm hoping he comes back to play for the Sixers out of the blue, but with a mustache.
