Especially with Vegas kicking off this weekend and all of the NBA basically together. With so much money still left around the league and so many dynamics having changed, it sounds like we could see a good deal of movement.
Also, I have it on a very good source that any Westbrook to the Lakers deal would have to start with Ingram. If he's off the table, the Thunder won't even talk to them.
Think Ainge is still in it for Tyreke Evans? I thought through it a bit in the off-season game they put together, and it seemed like a possibility.
IT/AB/Evans/Crowder/Horford wouldn't be a bad starting group, and if Evans has health issues it wouldn't hurt them that much since they don't really need him. I'm sure they wouldn't give up much more than bit parts, but I could see it as a one year Evan Turner replacement. Make any sense or no?
Great timing! I just talked to a Pelicans guy who is here scouting and he said the word he is hearing is that the Pelicans intend to keep Evans at least to start the season.
I could see the Lakers finding a deal to land Westbrook now instead of letting a year play out and risk losing their shot at him with negotiations reaching a point where the Lakers say "D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle, but Brandon Ingram is not on the table", the Thunder respond "D'Angelo Russell or Brandon Ingram, otherwise we shop Westbrook elsewhere" and ending up with an agreement on Brandon Ingram, Nick Young and a TPE for Westbrook (OKC gets Adams-Sabonis-Ingram-Oladipo-Payne as their young line-up and the Lakers secure Westbrook 100% without having to deal two of their young players and dump a contract to boot).
I would say after that, the off-season has a few small roster balance moves ahead of the season with maybe the 76ers finding the right Okafor/Noel trade as the head-liner, then most teams get a feel for where they are in the standings and realistic contention in the regular season before shopping some bigger names to the point that we actually see them get dealt and a deal finalized (Jimmy Butler, Eric Bledsoe, DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Goran Dragic, etc.) or get a feel for where they stand with impending 2017 free agents (Paul Millsap, Blake Griffin/J.J. Redick (maybe Chris Paul if things break that way by the trade deadline), Gordon Hayward, etc.).
Is that a fair assessment of the current trade market or am I way off here?
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.
