The sum is 1.654, he just put the wrong # in the multiplication.roseorbust wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
I'm hoping this is just a honest mistake, but the math here is incorrect. just by using common sense, you can tell that it's wrong. 1.381*1.25 is 1.7625, so this trade doesn't work.
GM a Team Part 3 (Transactions) unsticky plz

Ya, I saw he changed that... is he allowed to? I don't think you can "unwaive" a player.
thats not allowed.. guys please refrain from shady stuff. Its hard to monitor waivers and pickups, so please stay honest and don't edit original waivers, Bryant is not here, so we gotta trust each other to make honest moves.

K another question... how did you get carroll to portland to send him to houston since he is BYC and that would be a little bit more difficult to do.

iirc, BYC does not coincide with Trade Exceptions because it covers the player's entire salary in a trade
so in your argument to crash this trade, it would look like this:
Portland Trail Blazers Trades:
Joel Przybilla (5.7)
Raja Bell (4.75)
Marquis Daniels (6.3)
Matt Barnes (3.0)
Anthony Carter (minimum)
2008 Second Round Pick Belonging to Memphis
Total: 19.75
Portland Trail Blazers Receives:
Devin Harris (8.6 due to PPP)
Mickael Pietrus (3.5)
Eddie House (1.5)
Alonzo Mourning (2.7)
Matt Caroll (5.6, normal salary, not BYC)
Total: 21.9 (19.75 x 1.25 = 25.## so it works)
so if we take houston out of the original 8-team deal, thats what it would look like, then i send a combination of players for the 9 million TE
and once again, if anyone can tell me that TEs dont work with BYC, tell me right away, so people like Skorff26 wouldnt try to burn down trades

I'm not trying to screw you... I'm just making sure you did it right... but I'm not concerned about how houston gets the players (I agree that that works), but you were saying that you
Because: I basically receive the players Houston gets, then send it to him for all the TE, it works out finanically. I fixed the trade slightly for myself and houston now, so dont panic =)
so I was wondering how you got carroll to portland since he is BYC to send him to houston
-maybe it would be best if you posted all the steps separately instead of all at once so we can see how the trade works

Also, I'm assuming we are using same rules as last game which was after traded once, BYC is no longer in effect. Or haven't we been following that rule?

thanks klomp!
You know Zong, there's no need to be a smart ass. If one of the GM's having problems following what you did, you gotta explain it. The league office and other GM's might miss something in such a large deal and its the responsibility of every GM to ensure the trades are done properly so that they could inform the league office if they find a glitch or something. No need to start throwing attitude around. We get it, you're a shrewd GM and have accumulated a lot of assests and built a good team, but there's no need to be cocky about it. As far as I have seen, the other GM trying to understand what you did with this trade didn't show any disrespect, so why are you throwing a hissy fit?

I can honestly tell you that im not trying to be a smartass or w/e, but wouldnt you agree that you should try and figure it out yourself how to do work something out before making a complaint? I admit that the BYC complications are kinda difficult to explain with Trade Exceptions combined, but that should be addressed differently rather than: "I think this trade wont work"

How quickly ppl forget the rules. Bryant08 and myself asked that no one post anything outside of the trades here. If you have a question about a trade, concerns about a trade email myself, (nickclansbergen@hotmail.com) or Bryant08 or you can email the GMs. If you need a ruling on something same thing, email us.

I ACQUIRE Caroll first (it doesnt matter if he's BYC, because finanically it works since the incoming does not exceed 125%) then immediately toss him at Houston for the TE (BECAUSE HIS SALARY IS COVERED BY THE TE, EVEN IF it is a BYC), holy crap why are you so diligent about something that doesnt even concern you, you need to learn to figure it out step by step YOURSELF before posting issues, I mean, have you tried to work it yourself even? just leave it for the league office to deal with it if you're too lazy to.
Dude you're really out of line.

The Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets Have Agreed On Two Simultaneous Trades
Courtesy of The Oregonian
1st Trade:
Houston Receives/Portland Sends:
Eddie House (1.5)
Luke Jackson (0.77, min)
Stephane Lasme (0.4, min)
Total: 2.67, (1.5 without minimums)
Houston Sends/Portland Receives:
Hilton Armstrong (1.9)
Portland: trade works because outgoing (2.67) > incoming (1.9)
Houston: trade works because Jackson and Lasme are minmum contracts, so outgoing (1.9) is > incoming (1.5 from House)
2nd Trade:
Houston Receives/Portland Sends:
Hilton Armstrong (1.9)
Houston Sends/Portland Receives:
Eddie House (1.5)
For Houston: 1.5 x 1.25 = 1.875, then add 100k, it equals 1.975, therefore it works
For Portland: outgoing bigger than incoming, therefore it works
Portland Accepts and helps Houston set the table with scrub salary fillers, while keeping their own roster trimmed to the minimum of 12.

The Knicks and Bucks have made a trade:
Milwaukee out:
MIL 08 1st
NY 08 2nd
FOR
NY 08 2nd
*Milwaukee recieves the higher of the two first round picks unless New Yorks pick is in the top two. If that is the case then both teams keep their original picks (New York: NY 08 1st) (MIL: MIL 08 1st, NY 08 2nd).
*** I know that there is always a problem with the idea of my trading the 2008 Knicks first rounder but this deal cannot be completed until the lottery draft order is determined and therefore does not violate any rules.
