60/40?
Bronny isn't an NBA caliber player, might not even be G League, so he will go undrafted, almost guaranteed, and the Lakers will sign him to a 2-way contract so he gets to play some games with his dad. Then once LeBron retires he won't be extended and he won't be offered another contract. No pro basketball team would sign him so he will become an agent for Klutch before being the assistant GM of the Las Vegas LeBrons.
But a team isn’t spending a pick on just Bronny. They are spending it on Bronny and the chance to get LeBron, or resale to LAL.
We’ve seen overpays before to lock in a better player (the Clippers huge price for Paul George knowing that would get them Kawhi), but there are so many novel questions here, that I don’t know if we have a good frame of reference to make a prediction.
Would LeBron really leave the Lakers under any circumstances?
What’s LeBron’s next contract? Does he pick up Lakers option for a sign-and-trade, or accept a vet min as a free agent?
Would a bad team gamble they could force LeBron to come?
Or how much could a team extort from the Lakers in a trade for the Bronny pick?
Would a contender grab Bronny? Would LeBron be willing to move if a team gave him a better chance at that sixth ring?
Would they just stick him in the G-League, or would LeBron force them to keep him in the pro club? Is that good for Bronny?
Does LeBron’s finger on the scale make life harder for Bronny, where he’s not evaluated for his own achievements?
