This is ignoring all the other factors surrounding this. In a vacuum you may be right. If Dame and Portland were perfectly happy continuing their relationship together, Dame's value may be much higher.
But Portland through their actions last season and this offseason, its clear that they have made the decision that they want to rebuild and have forced Dame to request a trade to make it appear as though they don't want to do so, which to anyone following Portland knows is BS. But not only has Dame requested a trade he's requested a trade to one team and made it clear he doesn't want to play anywhere else multiple times.
Whether they like it or not this reduces Dame's value. Because Portland have put themselves into a position where they have to trade him otherwise things get really uncomfortable in Portland when they'd prefer to just move forward with Scoot.
If Portland also keep Dame and they are a middle of the pack team Portland also lose their FRP next season so they know and other teams know they need to get this done sooner rather than later.
