I want this energy. close the damn trade tonight!

Same. I just want something to happen If we can get Durant without giving up Bam or Jimmy and getting the team, then go for it. If not, now that Mitchell is more available...go for him.

My preference at this point is Mitchell because of age, and the fact that itbwould take less to get him...so we can stay semi-intact.

I dont think it costs less for mitchell.. durant has 2-3 years left being the apex predator that he is.. and its probably closer to 2 and 3. Mitchell would set us up for 5-7 years

What is Miami is who’s leaking the Jazz deal?
Hear me out. They could be talking all along but not with a lot of interest. We know our offer is not enough. However, we met with Marks who said he needs more.
The day after the Jazz are willing to trade Mitchell. Could we be using back channel to force Brooklyn into a deal they are ok with just so they don’t miss out on an offer that’s not whah they want but better than anything else?

I think just on name value alone, Durant would require more. Maybe I'm wrong, but even at 34 i would be willing to trade more for Durant than Mitchell...I wouldn't trade Bam or Jimmy for either, though.

Lol...Andy and I have a different definition of "most". I hope they know and are almost ready to announce something we don't, because from this side it looks like Oladipo will be our big free agent signing.

I’m starting to think our first offer for Mitchell a couple weeks ago was Herro Duncan one of the minimums and 2 picks. Now we have wiggle room to add Jovic a pick and our swaps to make it more enticing. We’ll see

Barry has sources and it's very well known Miami is in the mix for KD. He's just pointing out that Andy is lying and keeping everything close to the chest as the Heat always do.

Just as important is being ready to announce. The man spoke like the trades were done. Lol

Just gotta be patient. I feel very confident we’re getting either KD or Mitchell this summer. Wish it would already happen and be over with but this is just part of it

You put Jimmy/Durant/Adebayo together with some shooters, we've got a very good chance of winning a 'chip for the next 2-3 years.

I saw enough from Gabe and Max last season to suggest they could be solid nominal starters and floor spacers. Dipo will play plenty and assume Herro's role, and Martin will get plenty of burn too.

You pair Jimmy and Bam with Mitchell and we have a good chance of winning a title for the next 8-10 years. To me Mitchell is a far more valuable piece

Agree to disagree. I just don't see Mitchell as a player of KD's calibre. I'd take a 33-34yr old KD over a 25-26yr old Donny any day.

Jimmy is a UFA in 2026. KD is a FA in 2026. Bam Adebayo is a UFA in 2026.

We'd have a TON of space to reload.

It's not one play. Ben's reluctance to shoot the ball is a college and NBA career long thing. And the criticism he got for that one play (choke) resulted in him sitting out an entire NBA season. That one play was just the cherry on top of a big steaming pile. Another bad sign is that his free throw shooting collapsed in that final postseason in Philly (25/73 .342).

I used to defend him and really couldn't care less that he refused to shoot a 3 as long as I could believe that it was just good shot selection on his part, but now it's obvious that wasn't it.

I suppose we could try to turn him into a Draymond Green type, but if he catches any criticism he may just take off on the team. :nonono:

It’s a risk, but a worthwhile one imo if it would help us land KD

We would essentially be getting the opportunity to try to groom a young 3x MVP for pennies on the dollar, in addition to a bonafide top 5 player. If Bam, Lowry, Herro and 3 picks does it then I’m with it

I get the hang-up though

Been trying to get caught up with him but I am traveling this week for work I am in Seattle, WA and I fly to California tonight, then back Home to St. Petersburg Friday. but the 3 hour time difference has made it a hassle, He called me and I was in a meeting today.

You simply do not stay in that meeting if he calls. What is the matter w/ you. You have people here that breath in your info
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

If a deal is imminent I have a hard time seeing it being Miami just because you guys are so set on KD at the moment. But you never know, maybe they talked again and the Heat would prefer to just land Don and secure the bag. We'll see what happens, I'm a Jazz fan but if he's traded I'm rooting for Miami now and will be pulling for you guys to win it. lol

That 4 team deal looks fair for all teams. It's much more realistic than Herro on 120M extension + 3 late firsts like many of our fans are pushing. Wonder how we would look back at this in the playoffs when Jimmy has no #2 and Bam is still passing up open jumpers against 6'5 tweeners.

Shhhh…. we’re not supposed to say that out loud.
We’ve gotten very lucky the past 3 years with the injuries and the bubble. Would we get lucky again vs a much better Celtics, Bucks, Philly and a few more?

BasketGods can only do so much lol

Lmao at seriously trying to say we’ve gotten lucky with injuries the past 3 years

I agree. I don't think Mitchell is worth what it would cost to get him. The Jazz would want more than the Gobert haul which would mean Herro + all our available picks and all available swaps.
KD on the other hand could be but I don't see foresee a trade where it doesn't cost Bam. And KD is 34, he's on the decline. I don't think him and Lebron are top 5 anymore. But still top 10 but not top 5.

I wouldn't be opposed to either deal but there are risks where either won't pan out. Mitchell because he's not a top 10 level player and KD of his age. I'd prefer the KD deal but only if we keep Bam or if Bam is traded we keep some of our picks and pick swaps. I don't want to empty all of our assets for either player
