Ive forever been a fan of this approach.
We had our Jimmy run. Was better than any of us thought itd be. However, we have zero assets that teams want and now are sliding back down to the treadmill portion of bball life.
We arent getting any superstars via trade or free agency. We have to draft them, or at least attempt to. Id imagine my sense of optimism would go thru the roof with a legit blue chip prospect on the roster. Right now our best prospects are all complimentary.
We’re basically right back where we were pre Jimmy when we got Winslow. In that draft territory. We need top 5 picks at the very least but question is will Micky do what’s right or continue enjoying the smell of his own farts
Two top 5 picks on this team would inspire some significant positivity I think.
Then you grow and add the best vets to supplement.
Imagine this team with Flagg and Harper. Wed be pissing ourselves at our prospects.
Agreed considering our only prospects for the past decade and a half have been undrafteds or mid 1st/2nd round picks. That’s only counting the picks we had available and didn’t trade away. Imagine the Heat elite development program with several years worth of top 5 picks. Beasley really messed with the Heat’s perspective of top picks
