He doesn't have to start him, just looking at this, its only been done 99 times compared to teams where their actions are 400+
I think firstly the action needs to be enforced to be done, when their both on the floor, and you can bring him in early by sitting Herro early, so you can stagger Herro with the bench guys. This makes everyone happy and doesn't force any hands on sending a player to the bench. As long as Herro & Jimmy are both on this team, thats the starting SG/SF combination. those are the only slots he will play, and no Jimmy isn't going to be playing PF to let Robinson feel comfortable.
We trying to win championships or make Herro happy? Duncan is the better fit and damn near everything backs that being the case. We’ll see what happens but this team won’t reach its full potential unless Duncans starting, like we saw with the lesser player in Strus last year
I agree with Duncan next to Bam and move Herro to the bench. Miami FO will always run the team like a top tier organization. A top tier organization won't risk losing value on a Herro to gain 2-4 more wins in the regular season, which is what that may equate to. They need to balance, and continue show casing Herro as our main core player and not a bench 6th man getting paid like a starter. They will weigh the value of doing one or the other, regardless of how that goes, what happens should explain what they think is more beneficial in the long run vs the short gain.
I think the problem most of us have is were looking at this team with the eyes of a fan, and picking all the right things that are available and saying why the Fck are you not doing it and if your not then you guys are idiots.
In their eyes their doing exactly as planned, and playing a game of chess balancing 100 things that in the long run outweigh any short term gain were focused on. Lately that's the only way I have been able to explain decisions, by taking a step back and thinking about the repercussions of having gone all in or perhaps going just a tad harder, and then going oh if that still doesn't work out then were worse off down the line.
Just think about this for a second, this team with all their flaws their are things that standout analytically you an probably put them on a list of top ten things that affect Miami. Duncan starting over Herro would probably be somewhere in the top three of things that could tilt the team in a better direction. yet of all of the fixes, and changes to date not one has resulted in this which tells you that doing the very thing you want is not in their cards right now.
