Pure_Basketball wrote:Gordon Hayward is a good player, but the song and dance he's put on over this decision for what 4-5 days is beyond ridiculous. All these other free agents such as Blake Griffin, Kyle Lowry etc have taken calls from other teams and have been able to make a nice easy decision. Hayward had to take meetings on separate days, and is now taking a whole other day to deliberate? This is very strange for a guy who isn't a top 5 NBA player, might not even be a top 20 player. You've got to remember, players/managers for teams get talked to for an entire year leading up to free agency, so it's not as if he hasn't had time to think about playing for Celtics/Jazz/Heat beyond this year for the last 6 months.

I think he's signing for Boston, but jeez, just get on with it mate.

Gotta agree with this. If its me, I'm going in with an idea already of what I want to happen.

Do I want to leave Utah? Yes if these conditions are met. Otherwise I stay.
I'd sign with Miami if x, y and z are met.
Same with Boston.

Now lets have the meetings, ask the questions I need to ask in order check off the bullet points on my list.

You're lying right?

Hayward isn't the type to do what Queen did.

Now imagine the Knicks, Bulls, etc.. fans in 2010 when Bosh, Wade, and Lebron all played them and picked Miami?

I can understand their saltiness now. Hayward had no intention of picking Miami. He ruled us out quickly.

I think the majority of the anger right now is just the lack of conviction in his decision. A verified reporter got the scoop, and he's just trying to save face for whatever reason and keeping the NBA at a holding pattern.

Let's get to re-signing JJ and Waiters already. To hell with Hayward's decision

Agreed at this point IDC if it's Utah or Boston, I would prefer more professionalism in regards to our team if we were out of the running earlier than we had known and also for a good player like James Johnson.

They are likely just working out a sign and trade. Decision has been made

You could announce your decision and work out the sign and trade later. When Lebron and CB came down here, the sign and trade got worked out after they announced they were playing for Miami.

There's this great backstory - I think it was windhorst - once told as to why Miami gave up so much to Toronto and especially Cleveland to sign LeBron and Bosh. The short version is that Miami announced the the two were coming to Miami as FAs, and had the "not one, not two..." celebration already scheduled, before the sign and trade was worked out. Miami was backed into a corner and had to give too much.

We need a legit star player to be able to attract some free agents. Prime Wade is gone.

I'm thinking it's time to trade Hassan Whiteside and Dragic and everyone in order to secure a legit All-Star. I like GOATside but in the back of my mind, I'm always worried if this is the season he turns back into a pumpkin.

Put everyone on the trading block.

Once we have one All-Star, then Riley can build around him and attract a 2nd star and good pieces.

my take on whats going on

GH chose boston, prob has been leaning that way for some time

It leaked but since boston cant sign him outright his agent wanted to make sure boston had deals in place to clear cap before making it official hence not letting anyone know whats going on.

They should have had the courtesy to let us know last night when GH eliminated us but somehow it works in their advantage to keep everyone in the dark until the deal is done.

F Gordon Hayward and his agent. I hope we boo the hell out of him when he comes to Miami and that we beat the hell out of them when we play them

Time to sign jj, dion, bring back ellington and add some pieces.

With or without GH were not beating gs anyway so if you think about it, it doesn't even matter so might as well just enjoy the hungry, hard working guys we have on our team that deserve to be Miami Heat players

AND FOR CHRIST SAKE, GORDON HAYWARD IS NOT THAT GOOD. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT HE HAS GOTTEN THIS MUCH ATTENTION.

No. Reporters created athletes to be the monsters they are today.
Had reporters had the balls to not kiss their asses and instead would suck dick to get an exclusive, athletes would not be the divas they are today.
I am for on OK with reporters getting shat on.

The warriors couldn't out right sign Durant either. They made the trades after Durant already agreed. Hayward and his agent are on some other ****

We do that this season if Westbrook wants out and indicates he's willing to sign long term in Miami. I'm hoping the OKC experiment doesn't work. I've wanted Westbrook to be a Heater even when DRose was winning MVP.
