Wiggins likely be on the opening day roster but will be on the block and traded by the deadline.
Looking forward to summer league.. i better see JJJ, Ware, Kasparas and Larrson active in summer league.
Do we do a lot of buyouts?
I honestly think buyouts before trade deadline of an expiring deal is usually bad management, but you can't put a price on the bad vibes someone can bring. If you could shelve Rozier, tell him he doesnt have to travel with the team, then I think that would be preferable. His expiring may be the difference between a superstar being traded here or not.
If he gets bought out, the savings should be significant enough an incentive for Miami to do it (though who is signing this guy after last year to anything substantial?). E.g if he offered a 25% buyout of like 6.5-7 mill where we pay him 20 mill or so.
But even so, Rozier + SloMo + Fontecchio + Highsmith + Love = $53,936,235 in expirings. Basically we have enough expirings to trade for a max player. If Rozier is bought out, then we lose that. Wiggins would have to take his slot, but teams may not want his extra year depending on what they are doing.
Of course, rumours like Gabe and Rui for Wiggins could always come into play there to have enough expirings, though in this imaginary world of mine, Luka chooses not to resign with LA Lakers
