We don’t really give Spo credit. I watched what he did with some of the horrific rosters we had before Jimmy too, he was working magic. Go back and look at those teams, just absolutely horrible. Making guys like Rodney Mcgruder, Justice Winslow, Tyler Johnson, Dion Waiters, and Hassan Whiteside look like dudes. What have any of those players done after leaving Miami?

Spo is at his best to me when he has guys who are willing to engage in his system. I personally think he can develop young players too given the opportunity to do so (he really hasn’t had the chance) but look at what he’s done with mid round picks like Bam, Herro, and Jamie. 2nd round guys like Niko, undrafted guys like Duncan, Gabe, and Strus. We have a Coach that if we go young has the ability to make that work.

If you want to see how Heat ball really works, watch our summer league teams play. There is a system of ball that we play here. Letting some guys grow in that could be special. If you can get guys on Rookie deals now that can be developed and return value even on par with some of our recent mid round picks you could have something really special brewing.

Instead of trusting Riley and this front office to make some splashy moves I really wish would just let the best Coach in the game build out a team and develop it. He has shown time and time again that given young talent he will maximize it and develop it.

All the great teams in the league right now were essentially constructed that way, and I would think we would have an advantage there.

I actually think Spo gets his just due from fans. The Heat have a great developmental program, some of the younger guys you named a lot of their core development came behind the scenes with assistants. The Dan Craigs and Juwan Howards of the world.

Best time of the year.

Soon Cubano will start frying his nuggets, wAtchOut will make an appearance, and I'll chitpost us through the summer and into October.

I Nuggeted out brother, sad days keep coming, the realization is hitting at first I played the part about wanting to trade Jimmy and pivot, now more than ever it seems that is the only way this makes sense. At some point you have to stop spending draft capital, and save that **** for real talent. Makes the mid season Rozier trade seem like absolute hog wash in hindsight.

We're not even on the list of teams Trae Young is interested in if he's moved lol.

Just thinking out loud, but if this window is closed and Bam wants to compete, he is 26 year old. No one would blame him for doing what is best for himself.

If bridges can fetch 4 unprotected 1sts, who has the capital for what Bam is worth?

Don’t have enough assets to compete in this market. Have to do it the hard way until things open up again. Let’s start by drafting a really good player at 15

Did you not see that trade package?

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to trade Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder.

The Knicks are sending unprotected picks in 2025, 2027, 2029 and 2031, plus a protected 2025 first via the Milwaukee Bucks, a 2028 unprotected pick swap, and a second round pick in 2025 for Bridges and a 2026 second round pick.

We weren't sending all that for Dame.

Yup. Best we can do is try to compete, essentially running it back, until the Jimmy era is over and then we run smack into a wall with a full rebuild.

I suggested this when it happened, like others did, but I really wish we had traded Jimmy after the finals run. That is the highest we could have sold him. Bam isn’t a player you build around, he is the number 2 or 3, style of player. Might be prudent to trade him and get a huge haul of picks.

Yeah Bum is not going anywhere unless he really wants out and already fed with FO.

When was the last time a Heat player requested a trade? None I can remember

I’m not saying I would want Bam to go. I hope he is a true Heat lifer. Simply saying that he would certainly be our best trade asset if we want to fast track this rebuild.

Need to try and cash Jimmy in. It’s time. Can’t keep trying to compete with limited assets. Build the cupboard.

I didn't think I'd agree with this sentiment, but looking at Houston's ammunition and our rivals getting stronger...you might just be right here MWP.

If you can gt #3, Amen Thompson, multiple FRP's and salary filler...that's not a bad place to start a soft rebuild around Edrice.

Reed Sheppard or Stephon Castle / Tyler Herro / Jaime Jaquez / Nikola Jovic / Bam Adebayo with Amen Thompson as super sixth man could be a fun team next season. They won't win much, but they'd be interesting to watch.

What are the protections on our pick owed to OKC next szn?
