Dragic to Rockets for their 2017 pick, Michael Gbinije, and Chinanu Onuaku. It's a bit of a risk that the Rockets make the playoffs, but out west it will be tough.

Why does Houston acquire a guard that requires the ball to be effective with Har-en there?

Rockets like Dragic a lot. Many teams were looking into acquiring him.

Not THAT much.

Do you think the Rocket pick is so valuable? Funny. I can see that going anywhere from 10-24 depending on how they do this off-season. I can't believe how some Heat fans undervalue Dragic. He's being paid half of Conley's salary. In two years he'll make less than Tyler Johnson. But he's still a bad deal.
Unbelievable.

It's as though the Heat fans have given up on their team before the season starts.

kayath wrote:in my humble opinion we have bunch of young guys ready to play - Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow there should be plenty of playing time for them to develop. Hassan Whiteside is still here guys and he is a monster under the basket and he is still young and can get even better especially on defensive end. With Dragic having the ball more often game will be much faster from the start where Josh and Justise can be good. For half court offense we still have Bosh hopefully and Whiteside. I want to see more P&R and P&P. We are still missing few pieces and Derrick Williams is good addition if he won't go full Beasley or Green.

He's pretty much Kyrie with Westbrook's athleticism. That is f****** scary. If he didn't have that ACL tear, he would be a TOP 2 consensus.

Well, yeah, Smith is incredible. If he is on the board when we pick I'd love to get him. In this draft he may sink to 10th like Winslow did.
3 guys in the top 10 are power forwards. You know about Harry Giles and Ivan Rabb, but what about Jonathan Isaac. He's from Naples and will play at FSU:

Shoots 3s, good around the basket, gets blocks.

Why? Aren't we supposed to be excited about our draft pick? We almost never get one.

It is really early in the season, but it's never too early to get informed. In fact, there still may be changes (transfers etc) in the college lineups. Duke & Kentucky have most of the best players (though Dennis Smith is NC State, Ivan Rabb (Berkeley), and Josh Jackson is Kansas). Here is Duke's potential lineup (keep in mind these are very young players and some may not choose to be drafted in 2017 - Ivan Rabb, for example, chose to sty another year in Berkeley):
Frank Jackson, Fr, PG, 6-4, 195, 5/4/98 (top 20)
Grayson Allen, Jr, SG, 6-5, 205, 10/8/95 (top 20)
Luke Kennard, So, SG, 6-5, 190, 6/24/96
Jayson Tatum, Fr, SF, 6-9, 203, 3/3/98 (top 5)
Jack White, Fr, SF, 6-7, 225, 8/5/97 (may surprise)
Harry Giles, Fr, PF, 6-9, 230, 4/22/98 (top 3)
Javin DeLaurier, Fr, PF, 6-9, 205, 4/7/98
Marques Bolden, Fr, C, 6-10, 240, 4/17/98 (top 20 - but one of the best centers so will likely rise)
Chase Jeter, So, C, 6-10, 240, 9/19/97 (improving game)
If we finished about where we did this year and Grayson Allen was available, he would be a great pick. If we finish in the lottery, though, and get a chance to draft talent like Tatum, Giles, Smith, or Josh Jackson, it would be incredible.
I'm excited.
