Teams adding or losing win shares so far:

Spoiler:
Read on Twitter

Look how many teams in the Eastern Conference (including Bulls, Pacers, and Hawks who finished above us) that lost win shares. Miami added almost 3.

Literally every team that is actually trying to win should make the playoffs in the East this season. And maybe even a team that just sucks at tanking. The East is a crapfest.

East really isn't that much worse off than last year, only team that was good that will likely suck next year is Hawks.

The middle tier went away. Atlanta, Indiana, and Chicago, all imploded. There's no competition left for the 5-8 seeds.

The real question is .. can Kelly make Riley's body fat % goal !!!

Is there an incentive in his contract for that??

'19-20

In '20-21 the only guys under contract are JJ, Dion, Olynyk, Bam, *Winslow

And that bunch would account for nearly 1/2 the cap.

It would be $48.4 + however much Winslow's 6th year would count. With a $120+ cap that still leaves a lot of flexibility, especially if all 5 of those guys are expected to be starter-caliber (a reasonable expectation imo)

I like our team but still think we are a superstar wing away from being taken seriously.... best hope is that Winslow develops into a kawhai but I doubt it

Current roster with kawhai instead of Winslow could def go head to head with cavs imo

Riles needs to get him into the conditioning program. Join the culture. Maybe that extra girth is storage for that brain cap crunching capacity

Kelly is an absolutely fantastic signing for us

I am really excited about our roster, and everything we can do.

Olynk will probably get about 25 minutes of ball at the starting 4 spot. He allows us to go big on teams, and is a very versatile offensive threat that can hit from 3. He is also capable of giving us minutes at the 5 if need be. For those of you who don't know Kelly, the guy is a dog. You could argue that he was the heart and sole of the Celtics over the last couple of years. He's a warrior, and isn't well liked around the league because he's a bit nasty, dirty, and plays extremely hard.

Kelly Olynk signals a move to bully ball from the Miami Heat. The Heat are now versatile enough to play any type of style, but what sets them apart is their physicality and toughness. This team just feels like Heat basketball, and while we are not the Warriors, we are doing something very different than the rest of the league.

His contract is an absolute bargain, at 26 he represents somebody who fits with our core age wise, and has room to grow in his own right.

Dragic/TJ
Dion/Elington/JRich
Mcgruder/Winslow
Olynk/JJ/Haslem
Whiteside/Bam

In my biased opinion we are the deepest most versatile team in the NBA. Some teams have more fire power, but I bet nobody will have more grit and desire night in and out. That in itself is going to win us a lot of regular season games, get us in a 7 game series, and I bet this team plays like a 90s Knicks vs Heat series, only difference is other teams aren't ready to get dirty like that these days.

If one of Dion, Winslow, or Bam can develop into a real star in the next 2 seasons, we have a special group around them in regards to role players and fit.

The cap isn't projected that high. More like $113 million.

those projections look weird. I don't think it will be more than 110mil in '20/21

He's the primary reason the HEAT has historically maintained financial flexibility with tradable contracts.

Bullyball died with Michael Jordan. The NBA doesn't permit it anymore. Any team trying that these days would get buried with fouls, flagrant fouls, and suspensions.

So call me crazy but I really like this team.
Reminds me of the 2003 team where we had a Wade playing out of position, Lamar Odom at the 4 instead of his until then natural 3, Rasta Monsta playing the 5 when he was a 4. LO acting like a Point Forward, Caron playing the 2 or the 4 in small ball...
Rafer Alston off the bench playing the 1 and the 2...

These players we have can all play multiple positions, we have dogs, no softies.
Will we win a championship? No.
Will we win the conference? Doubtful but possible
Will we be one of the most feared teams because we will punch people in the mouth and not back down? YES!
Will we make it to the ECF? Possible, somewhat likely.
Will we make it to the 2nd around? YES
Will we make it to the playoffs? YES as a number 3 or 4 seed.

This team will be fun to watch and will be one of those that if and when they are eliminated out of the playoffs, we will be proud of their effort and how they honored the franchise.
#HEATLifer #VFL

You're welcome LeBron.

Tyler Herro is a TURD.
Bam is NOT elite but is getting better.
Fire Spoelstra!
Josh Heupel is coming for you.

I’m a proud admirer and lover of BBWs!

The last time that I initially had that intense "WTF" reaction to a Heat move was the McBob signing years ago.

Olynyk today had me similar to that but I've calmed down about it. Not too shabby of a move, but obviously not the best but then again what else can Pat do? Rudy Gay? Ehhh

I have a feeling we'll get involved in some trade again soon
