Our front office has proven, quite convincingly, that we're not one of those inept front offices but are actually quite good at what they do. I expect them to perform as they always have until things change. Do people seriously think they're better at this/more in-the-know than the people who do this for a living on our team--the same people who have built two championship winning teams and pulled off deals none of us thought would happen? Just chill.
Do you seriously believe Pat Riley is infallible? Incapable of mistakes? I defend Pat Riley, I love the man, always have, always will.
BUT... his strategy, is to "go all out" on 1 particular free agent and shower him with the proper amount of love and attention until he makes a decision. This is a good strategy. It works, and has worked before even as recently as last season (Battier).
here it comes again..... BUT........ this is a unique situation.
Ray Allen. Guy is a wild card. He could potentially be playing double agent, c-blocking us from getting FA's while at the same time using us as leverage to fix his issues in Boston..... so the Celtics can finally stomp us. THEY HATE US.
If we go "all in" on a wild card like this..... it could burn us very badly.
Who says we are all in? Do you seriously think that we are not in touch/negotiating with any one else? Yeah, to an extent we might be indicating that we're waiting on Allen's decision, but if there is someone out there that we really like who says he'll sign right there do you think we'll say "No, you'll have to wait"?
Thats the part I don't agree with .. everything else you said is reasonable.
