I posted in the Blazers forum and asked them
their fans and city do not care about logic on this. Dame is their Wade, and they claim that previous blazers front office never went "all in" for Dame, and they want to see it happen at least once and try to win with Dame, rather than ever trade him
As a Miami fan, think of Dan Marino. No chance in hell the city of Miami nor the dolphins would have ever considered trading Marino, so he could have a chance to win somewhere else. We went down swinging trying to get him help until it was over.
Dame isn't leaving Portland. I don't believe Dame will ask out. The Blazers will make a small trade or two to try and upgrade, while also drafting Scoot... and Dame will play there anyway. That's my guess and I'd bet on it happening
