On any given day there are roughly 21 stars in the league off the top off my head that will carry a team to the Finals with help from another star. Exceptions to Lebron of course who probably could carry a team on his own. After review all the stars. Westbrook seems like one of the few GOOD choices available until 2022.
Lebron- In LA for good. And going to be too old by 2021. He will be 37 years old I believe.
Kawhi- In LA for good. Just signed a huge contract.
Curry-Doubt he leaves GS and Steve Kerr. 2022 Free agent
Klay Thompson-Just signed a huge deal with GS.
Durant(Before Injury)-Signed a huge deal with Nets.
Harden-He is getting older but only 29. He could move next year.
Davis-Signed a Huge Contract to be in LA
Giannis-Currently with the Bucks and is due a huge contract in 2021. Won't be surprised if he re-signs with the Bucks if they get far again this year.
Paul George-Has a huge contract and isn't moving again
Lillard-Could possibly leave Portland in 2021 will only be 29.
Embiid-Could leave Philly but not until 2023 he'd have to force himself out.
Westbrook-He'll be traded somewhere. Horrible contract nontheless.
Butler-He isn't leaving
Irving-He has a good situation and big contract doubt he leaves
Walker-He just got his first big pay day and is with a good franchise.
Beal-IMO he'll be traded before 2021.
Wall-Has one heck of a contract. No team really wants him due to his injury. He may get traded though.
Lowry-His contract ends in 2020 he may be gone. If they choose to rebuild. Or if he wants to look elsewhere.
CP3-TOO OLD.
KARL-Anthony Towns-Not leaving until 2024 I think
Jokic-2023 is when his contract is up and he is in a great situation with denver.
there is a big fat "you never know" on all of the bolded. If the league has taught us anything it's that you really just don't know.
Bam and Justise are looking real good, we can see how much better they look and be patient instead of rushing to the worst fit with our star and limiting our future.
I'll be real disappointed if we trade in Russ. Regardless of our overall off season being a huge improvement of our team
Ok-let's take the players you bolded and explore a little.
Lebron-Do we want an aging Lebron? For the right price sure. But Lebron doesn't work that way. And I am pretty sure he is ending his career in LA at the end of this contract. May get them to sign one more. But we won't be the fools signing that 37 year to a a major contract.
Curry-Say he leaves the franchise that gave him everything he has ever wanted. Why would he come to Miami to start over. When he is in a great position in soon to be San Francisco. They are going to lock him up and make sure he is the face of SF and this franchise going forward. I'd place money on him staying here if they continue doing what they are doing today, tomorrow.
Harden-If you don't like Westbrook you won't like Harden. They have the same style of play. Although, Harden has the edge IMO. I think Harden could lead us to the Finals where Westbrook could not. Not without a 3rd Superstar.
Davis-Please. Why did you even bold this fool?
Lilliard Yes. I can see that one happening.
Beal I can see a trade or him coming here on his own accord.
So Harden, Lilliard, and Beal. Would be the only Superstars out of 21 in the League that may come here in 2020, 2021. Or you take Westbrook now if you have the chance.
If you ignore Financials.
Harden>Westbrook
Lilliard<Westbrook
Beal<Westbrook
That is why the Heat are trying to get Westbrook.
i'm going to leave the bolded as my cue to walk away from this discussion
