What? Because he got a PF finally on the roster? Had Miami went in on getting a younger PF LAST SEASON'S DEADLINE (Rui or PJ Washington)... you know to actually have a PF backup up for the 36 year old starter (who broke down in the playoffs), maybe Miami makes the finals last year and this year that younger PF is starting which probably means Miami's record is better at this point this year.
Good lord, the team finally is signing a real PF like every other team has and it's recognize the skills time.

We need to be a little more glass half full here it seems, people want to be happy about the signing, I am still skeptical until I see it work on the floor. However how does that old adage go "Better late than never". so here we are, in the late pickup at the tale end of the season, lets see what happens. Remember "False motivation is better than no motivation at all".

I think Love is a great pickup for the buyout market but it didn't need to come down to hoping a PF asked out and actually picked Miami... this type of situation happened before except Aldridge went to Brooklyn. I just don't get trading assets for what your team needs or wants vs overpaying lesser players who did good in the Miami system and then a pretty high rate of those contracts being horrible and the FO having to send assets out to fix the issue.
Miami's system seems to work well with developing plyers... unknowns, imagine if they used assets to acquire players with much higher ceilings that didn't work out in their first stops and ere acquired for pennies on the dollar. Why not roll the dice that the Miami system can rehabilitate someone like Bagley, Monk, Reddish, Rui, Bamba, J.Jackson, C.White, Wiseman... vs Vincent, Strus, O.Robinson or better yet, develop both? Of course you're not going to be able to develop everyone, but why not work with a much higher pedigreed player? Maybe there's a higher fail rate with guys who think/know they're better but you have a real shot at rehabilitating a difference maker. I still can'be believe D.Robinson's contract when Miami had Strus or could have just sighed FOR CHEAP... Forbes or Monk and used that money elsewhere.

After the Duncan situation, and Whiteside, an internal cap on dev players makes a ton of sense.

Tyler Johnson’s contract was toxic too. His contract was dumped for Ryan Anderson’s and Anderson still has his cap hit on the books after his contract was stretched. Is TJ even still in the league? His contract stays hurting the team.

Random trivia-Kevin Love sits in 2nd place all time for most points in a quarter with 34. Thats more points in one quarter than Lowry, Duncan and Ryan Anderson have scored per game this year.

None of this was orchestrated by Miami's brilliant front office work. Let's not rewrite history.

Wait, so convincing Love to come here, rather than going to LA or Phoenix, had nothing to do with the front office? And Cody Zeller signing here has nothing to do with the front office, either?
I'm very confused about the need to hate on Pat Riley right now. I really don't understand it...

Spo is always the wild card but when the front office makes a move like this it usually comes with a mandate these players need to see the floor.
