From what I saw of Fox, it wasn’t that he is a bad 3 pt shooter, he just had to shoot 3’s at such a high volume with not much help that it lead to poor shot selection. The Spurs were 6th in 3PA per game. He could get up to 37% again in the right system.

His best shooting season (37%) from 3 came with his highest averaged attempts (nearly 8 a game in 23-24). For his career he's been up and down. Maybe the Spurs are fine with that and just want all the guards that just get downhill with Wemby but it feels more prudent for them to find more consistent shooting for that roster now with Castle and Harper in the mix.

Yeah I didn’t see him as much in Sacramento, only when he was kicking the Heat’s butt. With the Spurs though, a lot of shots were contested. Though that could just be growing pains in a new systwm.

Attention =! commendation

But I sure hope your fantasy exercise of taking a neutral statement and turning it into a hypebeast narrative (same thing you're doing with idea of Lillard being back post-ASB) proves to be true here. It will be very good for Miami if Nick Arison is some sort of FO savant that has been limited by other factors despite being in a top decisionmaking role for over 10 years. My educated assumption is that Nick has his fingerprints over all of those "other factors", though.

It’s not that serious lol

Rozier, Wiggins, and Fonteccio in some sort of 3 teamer with the Lakers and Wiz that brings back Smart, Middleton, with picks. Lakers reroute Hachimura back to the Wiz and they send us picks. If we can extract a first and multiple seconds that would be huge. Maybe we flip the 2031 Lakers 1st for a Wizards 2027 1st and multiple 2nd rd picks

And 10th out of 16 teams in the playoffs.

Regular season defense does not always equal playoff defense.

Maybe Heat winning fifty this year isn’t so far fetched, now.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Pacers GM just confirmed Haliburton is out for the entire upcoming season. Do with that info what you will, to measure how long Dame is out. All star break is not realistic for 35 year old dame.

Spurs already have Devin Vassell making Herro money.

Castle/Harper/Herro/Vassell is far less redundant than Castle/Harper/Fox/Vassell. Not to mention a Herro extension is cheaper and further down the line than a Fox extension. Not saying this stuff will happen but there's pathways to why it would make more sense for both teams.

Tbh, they shouldn't be rushing that ****. Might end up like Klay and break something else.

Have a tough time seeing them not extend Fox after he had Klutch force him there at a discount and saying how happy he is to be playing in his home state along with his wife’s. Would not be a good look on the Spurs part

So, one thing that should be discussed is our defense. For so long, we've had to choose between terrible offense or terrible defense. We had to choose between hiding both Duncan and Herro on defense, or putting in someone like Highsmith or Kyle Lowry at the end and not presenting a challenge.

Now, we have one guy to hide on defense and that's much more doable. If you look at Powell as a Robinson replacement, it's a huge boost in our favor. More complete offensive game and FAR better defender. Wiggins is an extremely competent defender, and Bam and Ware are excellent.

I still want to see us make a big move but I'm okay with what we're doing...

I personally don’t see SAS doing anything until the Giannis situation gets settled.

Sure but Fox also had interest in Miami as a spot too and if he gets his extension in Miami then all's well that ends well. Plus he ends up with his college bff buddy Bam.

Ja
Trae
Luka

Just get me a high level PG if we’re not getting Giannis and send Herro out.

It's kind of sad how much Terry fell off because Norman Powell is basically what Rozier was supposed to be for this team.

Nick's been the boss of Riley for awhile now in the franchise hierarchy. It was Nick who championed for Winslow w his ties to Duke while Riley really liked his Kentucky guy in Devin Booker.
Idk how much Riley fought for Booker when Justise slipped and idk if the younger Nick had the overrule power (usually the Heat FO goes w the consensus as I understand) without being the fly on the wall. But I'm fairly certain if Winslow didn't fall to 10, we have Booker here. Also, without Nick's Duke ties, maybe the FO would had been more inclined to take those 4 first round picks from Boston and move up from Boston's 16 to 12th or 13th and still select Booker using a couple of those picks?

Levity

I get where you're coming from and share some of the same sentiment. But, I also just see this as the type of value-add asset management at the margins that leads to more optionality for creating and finding value on potential subsequent moves.

Fair enough. I just don't see any direction. And I'd rather be in a situation where we are either really bad in a year with a great draft or somebody makes a leap to get this team to overperform. The top 4 of this draft is supposedly really good. Better than last year. Might be Heat's best chance to get a no 1. Cuz they don't really have a plan on how to get that guy

Maybe you will get your wish by default, I dont think we will be too good this upcoming season. This organization do not like tank, and we have to deal with that one way or another.

I really do believe that 4 1st round pick story was nonsense. When have you ever really seen a trade like that happen before for a draft pick that late?

Josh Christopher is a guy im hoping we continue to develop. Could become a solid spark off of the bench. Still very young too.

Return to Miami Heat
