It's in the organization's best interest, the coaching staff's best interests (which includes Spo - having a dominant center makes coaching easier), and the fan base's best interest. No one has an agenda against the kid. He just has to work hard and earn his time/touches/opportunities. End of story...

It may be in Spo's interest, but I don't trust his judgement. I have no reason to.

Sorry, not buying it. This is the same coach who brought us to the championship twice, to the Finals four times, and to the playoffs all but once in his career. He's not that kind of incompetent, no matter what the masses of this board seem to feel. You can question some of his decisions in terms of play calling and rotation, you can question his adjustments, you can question his choice in clothes, but the idea that he won't play Whiteside, whom he obviously knows is very good, is just ridiculous...

Spo brought us to the championship? A tuna sandwich could have coached that team to the NBA Finals.

Just like Del Harris was able to coach Shaq and Kobe to those championships, and Doug Collins brought Michael Jordan to his first championships, and Mike D'Antoni brought Dwight, Kobe and Nash those rings. Just like Red Auerbach, Pat Riley, Greg Popovich, and Phil Jackson are nothing special because any coach could have done what they do. Just replace them with Bobo the Wonder Chimp and watch the banners sail up to the rafters!

You may as well toss in Vince Lombardi, because he has as much to do with those Heat teams and the circumstance they faced to get to the Finals as those other guys. The Pacers were our main rival in the East, and they were not a championship caliber team. If we hadn't reached the Finals, it would have been a scandal.

And what kind of competition did Riley's Lakers face in the West? They went up against no one. Bunch of crappy teams, yet Riley goes down as a legend with the Lakers even with Magic, Kareem, and Worthy. One of the greatest teams ever put together. All he had to do, the way you make it sound, was make sure they got along well enough to win, yet he's a legend?

You gonna call Riley's credibility into question because he damn well should have won?
