Is this guy a perineal all star in some other league im unaware of?!?!?!?
A bunch of you guys are deranged for change. Getting rid of Herro, Jovic and JJJ for LM would be absolute trash!!!
He's 27, hit his stride at 25 which is pretty normal development for a very good all-star lvl dude (yes he was an all star 2022-2023) but not an all nba type dude (those guys are often good or great at a younger age).
I def trade Herro and Jovic (Lauri is the absolute best case of what jovic can become and would replace him in lineup so you add him) and two frps : is what I'd send. I wouldn't send JJJ. And yes Lauri has missed alot of games but he also keeps getting shut down cuz teams he's on want to tank. So it's hard to know how many games he's truly missed due to injury. But he's gonna be so expensive, I think jazz would want herro Ware jovic jjj and all picks and forget it. Never happening. Lauri to Miami will never ever happen.
BUT.... he is good. Don't sleep on that guy.
The Ringer has him as the 28th best player and call him a devastating outside shooter who has thrived in new home with added responsibility and opportunity.
You wonder how many Markkanens are out there in the NBA, languishing on a bench, being misused, or being improperly evaluated by a front office or coaching staff. The sweet-shooting 7-footer became an All-Star in 2022-23 as the primary scorer during Utah’s shockingly un-tanky campaign.
This season has seen a more somber, sad-trumpet version of the Jazz. I saw a headline recently that read, “Lauri Markkanen on the emptiness of losing teammates at the trade deadline,” which is not what you want. Markkanen has been the major bright spot in these past two weird Jazz seasons. As the club flits between Cinderella story and extreme home makeover, Markkanen continues to produce at a high level, but you have to wonder whether his services could be put to better use on a team with loftier current ambitions.
