Much of our defensive problems come from not being able to score and giving the opponent outlets and breaks. The object is to outscore your opponent and while defense is critical, I think it's more important to have 7 or 8 guys who can score.

Nebs, I'm starting to warm to your Batum love. The guy put up monster numbers in that 2007 Nike Hoops Summit, and while one game does not a player, it is encouraging that he held his own against much of the 2008 draft class.

Now, he is currently projected on DX to go 12th to the Blazers. I don't know if that will hold, but I would like to see us swap picks with them to get Batum, and have them also throw in Koponen and a second round pick.

So why do you dislike Mo then?

Mo's production brings down the production everybody but himself and Redd. He's better suited coming in as a 6.

In what sense does having a PF shooting below 45% help slow down the opponent's running game?

He needs a better teacher (Carlisle) to help pick his spots, but his ability is obvious.

Offense is good.

He seems like a guy who could bring it all together for the Bucks. He's not as tough as I'd like, but we've got a real international theme going here and we might as well stick with it. Redd fits that model nicely as well.

Obviously to have this group in Milwaukee we need a real coach and I've obviously been supportive of hiring Rick Carlisle.

I see a nice lineup of:

Sessions
Redd
Batum
Villanueva
Bogut

Yi
Williams
Mason

Maybe we can snag Joey Dorsey in the second round to bring in some toughness and he'd round out our 9.

Defense aside, he could be the most talented player on this team.

If we can get him signed to a cap friendly contract, he definitely should be looked at as a keeper IMO.
No they don't! Hush...man. They are horrible defensively like Mo and Redd are in the backcourt!

You dont know what you are saying. Yes Villanueva has had some big scoring games while Yi is out, but Yi is the better long term player and
he can get his point in the half court set and open floor.

Villanueva is a pick up type streetballer on a team that has no structure.
He is fine on a team like the Hawks that run up and down...but he is not a East Coast player!

No physicality or basketball instincts, but he is a talented man but not very skilled or smart thinking man's player.

But I like the kid though he wants to do well so I cannot really rip him like I want. He has a good heart and means well and respects the game so I dont know...

But if I had to choose between the two I take Yi and I don't care for him either! We need Al Horford and we wouldnt be talking right now and would be in the playoffs.

You need a more rugged guy next to Bogut who can help out in the low blocks and take some pressure off of him and attention away on the defensive and offensive
end.

Yao was a better player than Yi in their rookie season. But keep in mind Rox started building around Yao from day 1, they force fed him the ball on the court, got good personal coaches to help Yao's development, SF3 took him under his wings and didnt bitch about Coach's game plan. Rox only won 28 games in Yao's rookie season but fans didnt turn their back on the players especially rookie Yao.

I don't like the assumption that because Yao and Yi are both Chinese, what worked for Yao will work for Yi.

If that were true, every single player in America should be expected to be the next Michael Jordan.

Then you misunderstood my post.
The point is Bucks hasnt done enough to develop Yi --- like how Bucks didnt do enough to develop Bogut.

What worked for Yao? Rox put his development ahead of the teams short-term meaningless "success". He got his touches down low regardless his performance. Ball-hogs like SF3/Cat were told to differ to him. There was no bloody locker-room issues to destroy his confidence in Rox franchise. These are just simple things you could do for your no.1 Pick, It will work for Bogut, for Yi, for anyone in this league.

Charlie would be lighting it up more often than not for the most part (with the occasional stinker) had it of not been for that stupid Easy Yi bullcrap.

I hope Charlie gets dealt from the Bucks, cause the Bucks are an absolute disaster. He deserves better treatment from the organization that what he got this season. He and Bogut play very well and compliment each other. Both are tremendous passers. It showed last season when they played before CV got hurt.

If anything, it's chuckers like Mo and Redd that kill this team at times, not saying that CV doesn't do a bit of chucking himself.

You dont trade a young 7 footer who shows promise and potential in less than one year. Have the Bucks made enoutgh stupid trades over the years. Not freaking again.
