I do think Conley is about as perfect a PG next to Redd as you can find, but I just don't want Chucky on the team next season if at all possible.

I'd also love to get Conley, but if we managed to pull it off, i'm with you in hoping Redd gets shipped out to. I would be very excited to see Conley running the offense, but not excited whatsoever to see a Conley/Redd defensive backcourt.

I think Conley/Redd would be fine defensively.

We all know Redd isn't good at defense, but we'd finally have a very good on ball defender at the point of attack.

With Conley and Redd's personal relationship from Ohio State I think it would be a great move all around.

I don't see any reason why an actual coach can't get Redd to settle into a reggie miller type role.

Conley/Redd/Yi/Bogut is a good core to start out with.

I think Conley is a tad overrated. Sessions could probably do similar things with the right coaching.

So you don't think the fact that Conley and Sessions were 52 picks apart means anything? You think GM's missed the boat that bad on Sessions, or that Conley is just that overrated?

I'm all for giving Sessions lots of playing time the rest of the season, and I have high hopes for his future.

But Conley was picked high for a reason... Sessions would be a nice backup for Conley though.

I've never thought Yi had Conley's potential and so I would be willing to make a deal for Conley that involved Yi. It wouldn't be my preference but if that was the only way to get Conley it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

But I realize I like Mike Conley a lot more than most on this forum. :)

If you look up some of my pre-draft posts on the jsonline forum last summer you will find that you have company. I've always been enamored of Conley, he's a true 6' version of what Ford was supposed to be, but without the moodiness and injury problems.

He benched 185 lbs. 13 times in pre-draft workouts, and only a few prospects (most of whom were much heavier) outperformed him in that area. He is skinny but very strong, kind of like KG and even like Jordan in his younger days. He scored 5th best among prospects in a series of athletic drills and he fell on the shuttle run That would have put any other prospect out of the top 20.

But he's more than just an athlete, he plays the position impeccably. Furthermore, he has a ton of experience playing with a dominant big man, which is something the Bucks desperately need. Part of the problem with Mo and Redd is that they've never known anything but guard-oriented offenses in college or the pros because they haven't had the personnel to play any differently - until now. They're having trouble adjusting.

But as I posted in another thread, if the Bucks can't get into the Top 2 to get Rose (or in this thread Conley) my preference is to trade down. You can get a PG like Collison in the middle of the first and add another player - either a rookie or maybe a proven vet.

Brad Miller and Vlade Divac were pretty damn slow for the Kings but when they started together for the first 50 games or so of Miller's first year with the Kings I didn't hear any Kings fans complaining.

Hey, I just said a tad overrated. He played with Greg Oden for most of his life, and now he isn't. Now people see that he can't really shoot all that well, even the open point guard shots (not forcing it). He has holes to his game, but he is a good young prospect with a lot of athletic gifts. I'm just saying I'm not convinced that he is immaculate.

Heck, if Memphis is in position to draft Rose, I say we offer them #7 & Yi for that spot, we can even throw in Mo if they want him.
