Don’t know how Poku isn’t a lotto pick, he’s a Zinger level unicorn

Really curious to see how he continues to develop but he looks so far away from contributing right now. Some of the stuff he occasionally does you just don’t see from anyone else his size though.

He's certainly not a Porzingis level unicorn (size and athleticism gap is huge), but in this draft I wouldn't be surprised if he goes Top-10 at this point. Someone's gonna take a swing on that upside.

This kid looks like a rotational player . 3&D 6-10 athletic ... Nice combo in this modern era

Porzingis might fall short due to injuries but that he's uniquely talented. Was the most talented player in the 2015 draft.

Poku measured 7’0” in shoes with a 7’3” wingspan and a 9’1” standing reach at like 16.5 years old and he says that he’s grown 1.5” since then. He doesn’t turn 19 until December 26

Would also say that his all around skillset and fluidity with the ball is a cut above what Porzingis showed. Porzingis at 18 looked like he had shooting potential but nothing like the all-around floor game this kid gives glimpses of. Very different prospects. For me, Porzingis was primarily about physical tools (length/run/jump) with skill level putting him over the top, whereas Pokusevski is more about instinct and fluidity at his size. If that makes sense. As a prospect he has more in common with Jokic than Porzingis.

Something that struck with me watching him that in itself is ultimately rather inconsequential in his potential outcome is his ability to make very advanced layups. He's very skilled all around.

Man, looking at the ringer updated mock...Pacers really f-ed us with dropping from 18-24. All the guys I really like that might be there, they now have going.

Yep can see that too, definitely reads the floor in a Jokic way but seems more of a scoring mentality. Probably closer to Jokic athletically too but the handles + coordination is intriguing. He’s pretty slow when anchored in the post but when he can see it from a help defender position he’s a good shot blocker. Solid rebounding numbers too.

It's the opposite for me; the only guy I'm sad about not reaching us is Patrick Williams, but I think The Ringer is underrating him anyways. I expect him to be a lottery pick. All the other guys that I would realistically be considering for our pick are still available.

Eh idk about that. After yesterday’s game I’m firmly in the best handles + great first step camp and Madar, Riller, and Diane are all right there for the taking

I've spent like 12 minutes researching, but I really did like Bane, Pat Williams and Bey and both guys now go after 18 and before 24.

That would leave me looking long at hard at Bolmaro and I still kind of like the idea of Tyler Bey as a PJ Tucker kind of player to add to the mix.

Not sure if it would/should deter us, but FWIW, Bolmaro was recently quoted saying he expects to stay overseas for at least one more year.

Yeah, that might be a good thing. Bring him in and give him some specific things to work on shooting and strength wise

The Euroleague season starts back up October 1st, so if we draft Bolmaro we’d have a chance to watch him develop with FC Barcelona for 4-5 months before the NBA season tips off again. Ideal circumstances for a draft and stash.

The other problem is the perceived trade value of the pick. 18 to 24 is an appreciable loss in value.

Could be one of those situations where best course of action is to trade it for a future pick. Pick doesn’t hold enough value to land a difference maker and we don’t really need to unload any salary.

There will be a good player on the board at our pick just not sure that we have the scouting to identify it. Maybe we will get lucky again and his agent will beg us to draft his guy lol.

I'll be upset if we trade this pick for anything short of an average starter even though our drafting history is pretty horrendous lately.
