And I don't think anyone would expect those players to be Bogdan. So I don't understand the point. We missed out on Bogdan. Need to move on. And maybe we made moves for a potential mid season trade.

Even if no one is expecting them to play that role, we don’t have anyone who can do it. Brogdon was it the year before last. Hill was able to muster the will to do so last year in spurts, but wasn’t enough. We don’t have that 2nd team leader and we need it to be a championship team. That is the point, regardless of expectations.

Also, you’re new here and you don’t seem to post anything of substance rather than trying to call people out. Don’t wear out the welcome too fast.

This may be wishful thinking but really hope Donte and Wilson take the next step. I'm also hoping Merrill and Nwora are actually usable bench players.

I'm still irked we picked up Thon's.

I’m still irked both were drafted.

Would anyone here be shocked if Thon doesn't get an NBA deal ever again?

We don't know how the contracts are structured yet but with:

  1. Augustine starting at $6,666,667
  2. Connaughton starting at $5,079366
  3. Portis on the BAE
  4. Forbes & Craig on minimum contract
  5. Nwora & Merrill on minimum contracts

I have us at $134,349,308 with one open roster spot. That would mean that with another minimum deal and Leuer's dead cap coming off we'd creep under the tax. Would be very important to be one year later in the repeater tax.

Being new to a message board means nothing. If that's part of judging someone's knowledge than I'm at the wrong place. I'm also not calling you out. I'm just trying to be involved and I just don't get the point of comparing a player we don't have to our bench. Yes. Bogdan makes the team better. I agree.

What pick, a 2039 7th?

No we would get some future 2nd.

I don't think any team is giving up anything for DJ Wilson.

Should've just drafted Huerter instead

Zackly.

Donte was pretty comfortably better than Huerter this year. Y’all are getting way too caught up in his bubble play.

Some people think basketball is just a game of horse. Heurter will have a hard time cracking the rotation on a terrible team this year.

Basketball is not a game of HORSE, it’s a game of advanced statistics.

Has anyone crunched the numbers on advanced stats to see how we compare from last year to this? Although idk how much Bledsoe messes with the reg season vs playoffs. And Jrue doesn't have much experience in the playoffs.

I've liked Huerter from day 1 over DDV, though. I think he'll have a better career.

We'd have to give up the pick, because of his salary. If he was a minimum guy, then plenty teams would want to take a look, because he can defend.

Still think we make a move with him. Moving him and a 2nd opens 2 more salary slots, or we take back a minimum guy but now have room for a 15th guy.

Wilson and a 2nd for Justin James. Sign Alex Len.

I want to say that we’ve improved as much offensively as we’ve regressed defensively. So no not hugely.

Image

Obviously Jrue is better than Bledsoe. I think Jrue can make DJ Augustin better by playing SG at times and giving us two shooters+ball handlers at the guard position. Nobody was guarding Bledsoe off the ball and now we can put volume 3pt shooters on the floor that can also attack a close out (at least better than before) at all times around Giannis. Hope that Bud let’s them run PnR more. Love the fit of Jrue+DJ+Forbes (and hopefully Merrill). Hoping for growth in DDV, hope he was watching all the little things that Wes brought to the team. Also hope that Bud continues to work with DDV on drives and PnR.
I also like Portis over the combo of Robin+Ersan offensively. Ersan attacking a close out was always painful to watch. Hopefully Portis can learn how to take a charge. I feel like Portis is going to shoot open shots that Ersan hesitated to in the past. Again Portis has shown that he can hit 3s at a high percentage at a high volume.
Hope that Nwora can shoot more consistently (and also at volume) than Wilson has.
Craig gives us options for a defensive stopper lineup
So IDK, optimistic. Hopefully Wilson has a breakout season or he’s an expiring trade bait along with Pat to get something
