OK, I did the math myself. This is how a max extension will look for Jrue. He can get 120% of his current contract as starting salary and 8% raises since we have now his Bird rights.

2021-22: 31,477,333
2022-23: 33,995,519
2023-24: 36,715,160
2024-25: 39,652,372
Total: 141,840,385

That's close to a max contract. With more than 10 years in the NBA Jrue could aim for a 4y/164mil (assuming the cap stays where it is), I doubt though there will be a team willing to sign him in a 38/40/42/44 million deal.

That's a good spot for him if D'Antoni was still there. No idea now.

Cap gurus, if we stay as is with a 14 man roster, will we be able to sign a buyout guy at the deadline?

'Tampering'? Probably just talked to his agent and agreed to a number. But really hope we reneg it into a 4y deal utilzing part of the MLE.

And I don't think anyone would expect those players to be Bogdan. So I don't understand the point. We missed out on Bogdan. Need to move on. And maybe we made moves for a potential mid season trade.

Even if no one is expecting them to play that role, we don’t have anyone who can do it. Brogdon was it the year before last. Hill was able to muster the will to do so last year in spurts, but wasn’t enough. We don’t have that 2nd team leader and we need it to be a championship team. That is the point, regardless of expectations.

Also, you’re new here and you don’t seem to post anything of substance rather than trying to call people out. Don’t wear out the welcome too fast.

This may be wishful thinking but really hope Donte and Wilson take the next step. I'm also hoping Merrill and Nwora are actually usable bench players.

I'm still irked we picked up Thon's.

I’m still irked both were drafted.

Would anyone here be shocked if Thon doesn't get an NBA deal ever again?

We don't know how the contracts are structured yet but with:

  1. Augustine starting at $6,666,667
  2. Connaughton starting at $5,079366
  3. Portis on the BAE
  4. Forbes & Craig on minimum contract
  5. Nwora & Merrill on minimum contracts

I have us at $134,349,308 with one open roster spot. That would mean that with another minimum deal and Leuer's dead cap coming off we'd creep under the tax. Would be very important to be one year later in the repeater tax.

Being new to a message board means nothing. If that's part of judging someone's knowledge than I'm at the wrong place. I'm also not calling you out. I'm just trying to be involved and I just don't get the point of comparing a player we don't have to our bench. Yes. Bogdan makes the team better. I agree.

What pick, a 2039 7th?

No we would get some future 2nd.

I don't think any team is giving up anything for DJ Wilson.

Should've just drafted Huerter instead

Zackly.

Donte was pretty comfortably better than Huerter this year. Y’all are getting way too caught up in his bubble play.

Some people think basketball is just a game of horse. Heurter will have a hard time cracking the rotation on a terrible team this year.

Basketball is not a game of HORSE, it’s a game of advanced statistics.

Has anyone crunched the numbers on advanced stats to see how we compare from last year to this? Although idk how much Bledsoe messes with the reg season vs playoffs. And Jrue doesn't have much experience in the playoffs.
