Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
Saw some Frank Jackson at the combine today and liked what i saw. Obviously the context wasn't great or anything. I'm hoping Mitchell drops to MKE but if not I'm on the Guard/wing train so I think i'd just take Jackson and hope for the best even though he's projected later. Just feel like he'll be the best guard left. I assume Ntilikina will be gone too.
then roll the dice on a physical rebound rim protecting big in the second. Hope he can step in after Monroe leaves after this year to pair well with Thon. There's some decent options for 3 and D wings in the 2nd too, so wouldn't mind buying a pick this year. Hopefully they put that money from GSW in the bank and can just send it right to someone else.

Super not interested in trading him. Would have to think more about it though, we finally have a legit prospect 3&D center with rim protection, hard to let that go.
Yea I can understand that. It just kinda sucks that this is probably the best point guard draft in years - 5 point guards might go in the top 10 - and we won't be coming away with one. Can't win in this league without an elite guard.

What would it take to trade up into position to get Ntilikina or DSJ? Would any team consider #17, #48, a future first, Vaughn and/or Delly?

Frank the Tank scoffs at both of them.

I still really, really, really (3 reallys) want Monte Morris to be our G-League point guard.

The context is good. It's a group of low-level 1sts to 3rd rounders. That's tougher comp than they played in major d1 ball. Brogdon really impressed there last year. It translated. I think there's a pretty good correlation.

This happens to be a big reason I'm afraid of drafting Leaf. I think he has a high floor and will be a decent player in the NBA, but just not for this team. There are better options for us.

You'd have to get into the Top 10 to get either of those guys and I don't think that package gets it done.

If Ntilikina slides to #14 such as in DX's mock, #17 and a future 1st should get it done.

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
With teams bombing 30+ threes per game, and many of the twos coming in transition before the defense is set... how much value does a rim protector have?
Give me the guy who can hard hedge and recover or effectively switch and stay in front of a guard, rotate quickly to challenge jumpers, chase down transition opportunities, and shoot a 3 himself on the other end. This is why I'm so down on all these bigs around our slot.

I wouldn't mind having Kobi Simmons down there either.

Lucky we have a guy who can do both, plus rim protectors still have a lot of value in the half court.

I think they have some, but seemingly half the shots out of a half court set end in a three, of which they have no value if they aren't great defensive rebounders.

I like Kobi Simmons a lot. Id take him at 48 and be pretty excited. I read a comparison on him that said he could end up being a Nick Young type of player with a functioning brain and that could be a very useful player for us. I can see that when I watch video on him.

If Frank N doesn't get Kidd all hot and bothered, I don't know what will. Seems like the perfect PG for what we run defensively. Giannis and Thon behind him / hedging screens would be a nightmare.

I think Monte Morris would be a great fit for this team off the bench. Wouldn't mind a true pg who gets the ball in playmakers hands and rarely turns the ball over. I agree that he is underrated.

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
We really should get multiple 2nds. Morris, Frank Mason, Dorsey etc would all be good on the bench and in the G League
