so the solution is what? all the teams in the middle trying to lose too?
if every season was like this youd enjoy it? like this for us? like this in the league? this is what teams do now if they arent top 10?
every young team eventually turns to veterans to fill in the gaps. perhaps maybe weve just made that decision too fast. or gotten desperate because of who is available in milwaukee. i can agree with that anyway.
Every season isn't like this if you end up at the top of the lottery a few times, make smart decisions, and accumulate assets. But these assets should continually build towards the future. No aging vets unless you can get them for cheap.
Milwaukee is certainly limited in who it can acquire. The only way top level talent is going to want to stay here is if the team is building towards the long-term. If you draft say Parker and then go out right away and sign a bunch of Goodens/Delfinos/Zazas, That player should and will leave.
The solution would be to go young, accumulate assets, and continually build for the long-term until you get a franchise piece or two. The win-now approach often contradicts asset management which is my biggest issue with how this organization has been ran.
Eventually next year becomes this year, so if you continually build for the now you screw yourself out of any chance of sustained success.
