Villanueva needs to let it go. He handled things well initially by saying he made a mistake and it wouldn't happen again. That should have been the end of it. A post (or tweet or twit or whatever) like this only reinforces the belief some members of the organization have that he just doesn't get it. Sure it's about control to a degree. But it's also about discipline and the need to have players focused on the task at hand. It isn't asking for too much to ask a player to stay off Twitter for a couple of hours a day when they are doing what they're being paid to do.
Skiles is establishing a way of doing things and now he has to include something I'm guessing he never imagined in a 1,000 years he'd ever have to include. But that's the way it is. He's the man in charge. Villanueva doesn't have to like it. But he has to abide by it if he wants to stay on this team. Questioning Skiles' decision publicly like this isn't a smart move in my opinion.
And Charlie, the difference between a halftime "Tweet" and a halftime interview is the latter is something the team is allowing. The former isn't. That's a pretty significant difference.
