Jonathan Kuminga :rocking:

Probably higher than we could get. Was thinking late lotto / mid-1st.

After some thought, the guy is Davion Mitchell.

Forbes has played 900 minutes this season.

The main reason his ORating is worse when he is on the court is because 200 of those minutes are with Thanasis where stuff like this happens:

T. Antetokounmpo, .B. Portis, .P. Connaughton, .B. Forbes MIL 12G 40M ORTG 92.5
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

Horst might have a bad taste in his mouth after the last time he gave a big extension to a guard before the playoffs.

If he gets offered, he pretty much leaves the team right away, right? Wouldn't mind seeing Charles Lee get to move up on the bench.

Yeah he probably would. Mike Woodson left his assistant job

Both can be true guys. Just as how he can be an asset for us come playoff time, if used sparingly in the right moments.

Yes.
I'd expect him to get posted up on D like Jrue was doing to Lillard and try to force us to take him out. His lack of strength on D is easier to exploit as long as we pass it to Forbes only when he's open enough to shoot offense isn't the problem.

Worth considering.

If a midseason extension doesn’t happen, best case scenario might be that it’d be because we didn’t want it to, as opposed to Jrue wanting to wait until the offseason for more money than we can currently offer.

The post ups aren't really the problem, few teams use the post that much. The problem is players just shoot right over him from the 3 point line.

Assuming we don't/can't dump salary and Jrue re-signs how much can we offer Portis?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Tax MLE (~5.8m) or non bird rights (~4.4m). Given that we'd have early bird rights after one additional year, which would let us allow to offer way more (105 % of average salary (~10m last year)), I can see him signing a 1+1 (PO) assuming we take care of him the year after, which isn't exactly allowed but happens all the time.

A lot is going to depend on whether his game will translate to the postseason. In theory it should, but he's never shot like this before and if that dips will the rest be enough? If he doesn't perform in the playoffs im sure we can keep him but would we want to? If he balls out, hes probably gone.. so.. Fun!

The thing that stinks is that after we use the tax MLE on Portis if we're lucky or more likely a different backup center, we'll be stuck with no means to sign the player drafted with the Houston pick to more than a 2 year deal.

That's a big part of why I hated the Tubby Tucker deal, as 1st round picks can be signed without cap space or exceptions. We should try to trade back into the 1st round.

One way to do that is to absorb an undesirable contract with the TPE. That's how Memphis moved up from the 2nd round to the first to get Bane.

In his one previous trip to the playoffs, he had a 61 TS%. I could see Bobby as a guy who rises to the occasion again.

I could see him having a great series against Brooklyn but a horrid one against Miami. I hope im wrong and he remains a nice scoring option throughout.
