Forbes is both the best open 3-ball shooter this team has had, and at the same time, one of the most one-skill only players who got decent minutes we've had in awhile.

Both can be true guys. Just as how he can be an asset for us come playoff time, if used sparingly in the right moments.

I'd expect him to get posted up on D like Jrue was doing to Lillard and try to force us to take him out. His lack of strength on D is easier to exploit as long as we pass it to Forbes only when he's open enough to shoot offense isn't the problem.

The post ups aren't really the problem, few teams use the post that much. The problem is players just shoot right over him from the 3 point line.

Given that we'd have early bird rights after one additional year, which would let us allow to offer way more (105 % of average salary (~10m last year)), I can see him signing a 1+1 (PO) assuming we take care of him the year after, which isn't exactly allowed but happens all the time.

The thing that stinks is that after we use the tax MLE on Portis if we're lucky or more likely a different backup center, we'll be stuck with no means to sign the player drafted with the Houston pick to more than a 2 year deal.

That's a big part of why I hated the Tubby Tucker deal, as 1st round picks can be signed without cap space or exceptions. We should try to trade back into the 1st round.

One way to do that is to absorb an undesirable contract with the TPE. That's how Memphis moved up from the 2nd round to the first to get Bane.

I could see him having a great series against Brooklyn but a horrid one against Miami. I hope im wrong and he remains a nice scoring option throughout.
