While the Cavs did well out of this I think it's pretty good for Boston too.

They got the best player in the deal in Kyrie. Crowder is pretty redundant on the roster now with Hayward, Tatum and Brown competing for minutes at the same position. They lost the Brooklyn pick but still will likely have a high pick they got from the Fultz trade down. Trade makes sense for both teams on a lot of levels. It's a lot to pay but I still don't feel bad about it if I'm Boston.

What would be wrong with Crowder matching up with Klay?

You want Crowder covering Durant so LeBron can go back to guarding Draymond and play the free safety role. It's also not the best use of his talent to be running around screens on the perimeter.

That'll still work. Why would it have to be Love on Klay? Just put JR on him

So........get Beverly somehow and they're looking pretty good. Not sure if the Clippers would deal him.

Cleveland made a perfect trade. Got significantly better in the interim and that pick could very well be a better player than Kyrie down the line. Make one last run with Lebron and if you win it all, he maybe stays. Re-sign IT if he fits for likely less than Kyrie and have another premium asset to make a big move with if need be.

ETA: Don't know what Boston is doing. Argument could be made for IT over Kyrie especially when you consider contracts.

Hate to say this but Hayward kinda killed giannis last year...

It'll be interesting to see how Boston tries to develop Tatum and Brown this year given their title aspirations.

That works for the minutes they run without a C, but I don't know how long they can get away with that defensively. LeBron can't be the only rim protection, especially at 33.

It all hinges on whether Kyrie re-signs

Hinges on whether or not that pick turns into a superstar imo. Which it certainly could between Bagley, Ayton, Porter, Doncic.

I think Ainge made mistakes by not pulling the trigger on guys who've already been moved, but I also think he saved face in a big way here. Re-upping Thomas for big money would have been a franchise crippler. Irving is far more age appropriate and elongates their window with Hayward and Stevens by a pretty substantial amount.

Given Thomas's lack of size and style of play, he's not going to be playing much longer at his current level.

For some odd reason I see Thompson and the Brooklyn pick for Monroe, just so they have cash next offseason. I don't know why that popped in my head.

We couldn't top that deal.

Koby Altman >> Horst for the moment.

One dude has a big notch in his belt at the moment even if Dan Gilbert still owns said belt.

Probably because you're a hopefully delusional Bucks fan like us all.

Dang, that's a haul for Kyrie. Horfords not getting any younger. Celtics may take a step back this year unless they find some size. I think they lost their heart and toughness.

Cleveland made out like bandits. What a trade. Hilarious it was between the two top teams in the East, too - LeBron is gonna murder the Celtics.

Cavs won this trade for sure, however there is a possibility that Stevens can teach Kyrie team ball and make him much better.
