Re: Chris Sheridan: Lakers Could Pursue Ridnour With ML
Ridnour or Blake would make sense for the Lakers, as they won't be caring about developing young talent vs Kobe accomplishing a double three peat.
Whether Fisher retires or not is irrelevant, as clearly they need a starting caliber guard to play some big minutes for them. Ridnour made no peeps about coming off the bench this year, and even played well at SG, so sadly he does seem like a great fit there...
Anyways, are there any opinions on Jordan Farmar---I like his defensive intensity and athleticism, and didn't he play with Mbah a Moute at UCLA?

Just to clarify, I'm certain he meant to type "wouldn't" or "would not" there instead of would.
The Lakers can use the EBE to sign Brown and would not be using any of their MLE to sign Brown.

I will go on record that if Ridnour signs elsewhere, we will regret the fact that he's not around next season.

He did but rumors are he is looking for a starting gig...

I'd like to keep him because he's a solid PG, a quality veteran presence and very coachable. What concerns me is that his FG% was way above his career norm. So if there's a player on this team who could suffer a major regression it's probably Ridnour with Delfino a close second. I also hope the backup PG is only playing about 10-12 minutes per game because I'm hoping Jennings can improve and the options at SG will be stronger. So while I value what Ridnour brings and I'm fine with re-signing him I don't want to see the Bucks overpay for a player whose role (hopefully) will diminish next season.
Nothing will not break me.

I actually completely agree with this. i think the type of player they should target is a bigger point who has the ability to play off the ball for a shorter term type of contract. A type of veteran who would have no issues coming in being that type of player.

We will not regret passing up the opportunity to overpay him as a backup who is likely to decline next year.

Such as Kenyon Dooling....
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.

Eh. Not so sure on that one. I think he would be in the mix but not at the top of the list...

Market is pretty slim for backup point guards:
Anthony Carter
CJ Watson
Kyle Lowry (R)
Luther Head
Earl Watson
Steve Blake
Jordan Farmar (R)
Jamaal Tinsley
Rafer Alston
Carlos Arroyo
Royal Ivey
Chris Duhon
Kevin Ollie
Anthony Johnson
Jason Williams
Travis Diener

Jordan Farmar (R)
Jamaal Tinsley
Rafer Alston

Re: Chris Sheridan: Lakers Could Pursue Ridnour With ML
I'd like a better defender than Ridnour, but Luke's shooting really helped us this past year.
Not high on small ball with any undersized guard, so hoping we can have more of a change-of-pace PG that brings elements to the court that Jennings can't----along with some veteran moxie.

Re: Chris Sheridan: Lakers Could Pursue Ridnour With ML
Yep, backup list is very small. Ridnour is my first choice, but I wouldn't pay him more than $4 million for a couple years.
Would probably then move on to Dooling and Watson. Then Farmar and Duhon. After that there's nothing.

I don't see the great Acie Law on that list.
Actually, I'd rather have Acie Law than a lot of those guys.

I just think that Ridnour was so damn valuable in those games where Jennings couldn't buy a basket. I'd rather have Ridnour over any of those guys on the list of FA's and it isn't even close.

I'd be shocked to see Fisher leave the Lakers
Can't believe the Lakers would be looking at Ridnour as their starter, only a replacement to Farmar.

If we let Ridnour walk, do we have more money to allocate per year to Salmons?
We all seem to be in agreement that paying him more per year rather than more years would be preferable...
