John Wick 3 was absolutely fantastic.
It was my favorite of the trilogy thus far. The action set pieces in 3 are absolutely amazing.Spoiler:I'm not sure what my deal was but I couldn't connect with this one like the last two. Felt like they were grasping at straws from a plot perspective by the end. Fight scenes were well choreographed but just didn't get me super excited. Feel like maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind for this one. I wanted more depth to the 'hero's journey' he's on but left feeling unsatisfied.
I know that's not the overarching point of the movie. It's about fights and action but I wanted something more.Spoiler:I mean, from a plot point John Wick kind of ends up in the same place after 3 that he was at the beginning of 3, maybe a little worse off now. He has the high-table coming for him now after failing to kill Winston. I thought the Winston heel turn was unexpected. So overall from a plot perspective, not much happened in regard to advancing Wick's plot, so I do agree with you there.
I did think the last fight scene dragged on a little bit too long, with the repeated disappearing acts. I thought the fight scene with Halle Berry, the final Continental with the armored soldiers, and the throwing-knives encounter were all absolutely fantastic.
Idk, I just really like the world that they have created with these movies. I'm also just a big Keanu fan, both of the actor and the person, so I watch most of his movies with rose-colored glasses.
Spoiler:
Agree on all your points. I too heart Keanu and will see the next one just because of him. I do enjoy the universe they have created as well. Not a Halle Berry fan. Not sure why?
